Add me to the 'WOT is shit' group; I dropped it about.. halfway through the first book.
Turned me off from Epic Fantasy for a while, until you people and PA wouldn't shut up about A Song of Ice and Fire; worked my way up to and through A Feast of Crows over the last month. Couldn't put them down...
The library actually had to order some of them. Great stuff.

:thumb: Got halfway thru the 4th book. Still own the 5th but it remains unread.
I think it takes far more skill and cleverness to actually end a story properly than to provide the kind of non-endings mentioned ITT.
A personal favorite:
Tad Williams' "Otherland" series.Flawed, not totally original, but respectful.
It's just as long as it should be, and it has an ending.
One of the few series I've read that could have been longer and I would have been perfectly happy.

Otherland, for all its virtues, could have stood to be a bit shorter. :p
