Context!

unfortunately the one line of text is all i was provided. its from a friend who constantly posts riddles as his facebook updates. they are always really good and require nothing but brains to solve. no context, no previous knowledge or inside joke. just sheer word/letter/number play. there are hints in the single line of text i assure you. i.e. the 1 between O's could represent something physical and not the number one or leter I.

Can you give an example of a previous one that you know the answer to so we have an idea of the kind of thing you're talking about?

I can't believe it! After several different approaches, I tried one from my childhood, enforced by the classic assumption that Arthur C. Clarke did this with I-B-M to come up with H-A-L. Here's the trick: The 1s are the letter i, in this case, but the trick for the rest is to replace each letter with the letter that precedes it in the English alphabet.:D

The essence of balance is detachment?
Didn't check it so I could be wrong.
