A quick question... - by Yakoob

Hey, I've just completed DE for the first time, wooo!
I joined the NSF pretty early on (when you meet Paul near a plane in a hangar) and went for combining with Helios / Joining Illuminati with Everett / Destroying Area 51 (yes, I've done all three endings). I was wondering if you can actually join Majestic 12 and complete the game on their side... or are you forced to join the terrorists at one point or another?
One last thing, I killed Nevara (sp?) in the plane (so I could talk to that one guy alone) and was just wondering, if I haven't, where else would I have to fight here? I'm assuming it would be before Gunther, so his "omg you killed nevara so now I'll kill you" could be preserved...?
Thanks!
EDIT: is DE:IW worth getting ? I've seen a copy at a used-stuff store for $10-15...

There are two places to fight her besides the plane.
in the subway before you get arrested by Gunther, or at UNATCO after breaking out of your cell.
And sadly, you HAVE to join the NSF. But keep a look out for Unatco Born, a mod in development that uses as its premise "you stayed with UNATCO"..

I would suggest (as would many) that you replay DX untill you get to about 20 playthroughs then try out some mods and stuff then try DX:IW.
There is nothing that is out there that quite live up to DX so play it again, for the ultimate challenge play it using no weapons, items, augs or skills. I have to admit its best you firstly become learned in all its oddities. First, set that as a challenge. Start of by setting small restrictions, like pistol only (quite boring imao) or melee only. Then you'll build up a repertoire of new techniques in tough situations, it is the most rewarding thing to complete a task in your own way.
Below is a thread with the "Alginon's empty handed guide to the Deus Ex Universe"- if you are ever stuck read it.

Bah, I'm that kind of a person that despises doing the same thing twice, no matter what.. I probably wont be re-playing DE in a while :p

Come on guy! Beating this game like a million times is what makes it so dang fun!

Besides, with so many ways to complete tasks in DE, it begs for multiple plays.

ya i know what you mean, just the other day i found a new room that i had never found before. Its really neat to play this game multiple times.

Or even, ignore tasks entirely...
"What the hell? You left a hostage situation in battery park!"
"I chose to focus on the primary objective."
