Well Convict had we simply nuked the mid-east on 9-12-01 that would have done the job without involving a nasty ground war that's claimed thousands of lives of our soldiers (not to mention injured and maimed) I would not have shed a tear, but yes I'd rather just leave instead. But our government is failing to deal with the problem and is using it as an excuse to undermine the freedom of our own citizens and empire-building. That's why I vote third-party, at least they are serious about the stuff they want to do, unlike the Demoncrats who play like they want us out, but then sit on their butts let our troops stay where they are not doing any good and collect casulties. I bet when the 'security sweep' of Baghdad is done, those 20,000 extra troops of ours will go straight to the Iranian border (write that down people;) ).
BTW: I cant stand the Demos, but I loved hearing about Obama telling John Howard to fuck off!:thumb:

You scare me.
Dr Sneak on 3/3/2007 at 16:31
Why?-I said starting another war would be a bad idea.

I think it was your "I wouldn't shed a tear if millions of people were wiped out and an entire region turned to glass" comment that scared him.
Swiss Mercenary on 3/3/2007 at 18:06
Because clearly nuking millions of people is OK as long as they are TOWELHEADS.
We can't have the GOOD BOYS get shot at, no Sir.

NOT ENOUGH OIL
"The good Lord didn't see fit to put oil and gas only where there are democratically elected regimes friendly to the United States. Occasionally we have to operate in places where, all things considered, one would not normally choose to go. But, we go where the business is." Dick Cheney 1998
(
http://www.judicialwatch.org/printer_iraqi-oil-maps.shtml) Maps and Charts of Iraqi Oil Fields (The documents are dated March 2001), a good hint that the operation in Iraq was about to happen all according to PNAC plans no matter what, all that was needed was a justification, which 9/11 so perfectly provided.
I love this... (
http://www.opednews.com/articles/opedne_jim_harr_070302_bolton_wanted_iran_t.htm) "they [Iran] have not done anything more dramatic, such as withdrawing from the nonproliferation treaty, or throwing out inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, which I actually hoped they would do - that that kind of reaction would produce a counter-reaction that actually would be more beneficial to us." John Bolton

A mere 3000 people die and as a response you 'would not have shed a tear' about the US killing several million innocent people?

Indeed.
In fact I heard last year that there is not enough metal on the surface of our planet to give china the same percentage of car ownership as we have in the United Kingdom. Nature's gravy train, which we in the west have been enjoying, is coming to an end.

Ignoring the question of genocide and any other arguments that assume you have a shred of empathy or dignity in you, you do at least realize that nuking the middle east would've utterly destroyed the U.S. economy, right?
Dr Sneak on 3/3/2007 at 23:32
When I saw the twin towers fall on tv on 9-11, my statement about nukes on 9-12-01 is a very, very gentle description of the way I really felt. Quit hanging on to that statement just to throw mud at me while ignoring what I said about leaving Iraq and not embroiling ourselves in another war.

Nope the good boys shouldn't be shot at, I feel for the families of our servicemen who are suffering due to politicians looking to make a buck rather than focusing on dealing with terror threat (Afghanistan has begun sliding back to the bad guys again-anyone notice that?)and then getting the hell out of the area. I think the terror threat could have been snuffed out by now if we had stayed focused, but the government has used their threat to change our policy and society in all kinds of ways for their own ends.
As for the UK dick (who is on ignore) who blows off 9-11 as a 'mere 3000 deaths' those were my fellow citizens. You don't see any Americans here go around saying England only 'lost around 50 people in those subway bombings' like it's no big deal or 'Bali and Madrid weren't really THAT bad'. We have the 'empathy' and 'dignity' not to throw salt in your wounds, so don't dig your fingers into ours. We know you don't like us, and the feeling is the same from this end.
And as for the oil resources within the US, I've spoken to a guy who was a retired engineer who told me of talking with several petroleum experts behind the scenes and they insisted that America has far wider oil and natural gas resources than is commonly revealed publicly.
