I have a non copyrighted DVD that I would like to take sections from and turn them into WMVs, how would I go about doing this? do I need some sort of software? I have Majix Movie Edit Pro 2005 on my computer which works at the beginning but not on any other part, if that makes sense. Any help would be appreciated.

They have a test of a Video converter that might work for you. I think it's a 30 day trial, and the app costs about 50 US if you decide to keep it.

I use Nero Ultimate 7 edition to mess around with VOB files, the files you'll want to rip off of the DVD. Try using your program to open up the .VOB files on the DVD. If your program doesn't like the VOB files, you'll need to install something that can read them. Like I said, Nero has a program called "Nero Vision" and it will manipulate pretty much any video file into what you want, but not so sure about WMV. Try Windows Movie Maker. Add your files, and then try to export to WMV.
