Without Keeper protection, placing his feet on the Path and covering his back, a little girl lowered his defenses, and he was backstabbed by her older brother for the City Watch's reward, when she led him to her hideout to escape an angry mob of terrified ex-Keepers in the morning light.

"How do the eye-drops work?
This is the iconic thing of Garrett, the hooded figure with the scar on the eye. The original series he had a mechanical eye, he could zoom in and stuff like that, so we wanted to keep that image, that icon, character trait. But it also has something to do with the story, which we're not going into at this point. But it relates to the mysticism, the overlay, that makes him a little more unique."No more clockwork mechanical eye?...What a shame they betray the lore of THIEF...:(
"This is the iconic thing of Garrett, the hooded figure with the scar on the eye."That is not the iconic thing of Garrett...only a superficial perspective...which is pathetic...

Wait. Am I interpreting that correctly? EM has kept the mechanical eye (or just the scar? But the pics of NuGarrett definitely show a glowing orb-thingy in place of his eye, amIright?), added eye drops (wuhtthefrak?) and designed a whole new story as to how Garrett lost his eye (or got the scar?) in the first place? How Garrett lost his eye is integral to the Thief saga.
You can't rewrite history .... oh wate ....
... unless you're JJ Abrams and making a new ST movie.
So I guess you can afterall. My bad.

Aha. Ergo, 'reboot'. Guess I forgot.
'In serial fiction, to reboot means to discard all established history and continuity in an established series in order to recreate a character, timeline, and/or backstory from the beginning.'
Well, they certainly got that part right so far.

I think this is the fault of the article writer. Its Official Xbox bullsh!t webacrud so don't pay too much attention to it. In any case - there is a basic spelling error in the first 3 paragraphs and the "eye-drop" thing comes out of nowhere so I wouldn't pay that much attention to it.

Rick: Hold up, hold up! What about these eeeeye-draaaps, man? It's literally that bad. And the answer seems to have
nothing to do with "eye-drops" (whatever tf they are!), it's just some babbling about how "iconic" the eye is! Ha ha. That "article" is so hilariously bad.

Everyone knows, and everyone knows that everyone knows. Except for the people who really have no idea. In this case there is only one of them. Can you guess who it is?

A shame but it actually makes sense to lose the mechanical eye if magic has been stripped out of the world. I don't think even Karras could have gotten something like that to work without a heavy application of Hammerite magecraft. My guess is that the eyedrops are some sort of ocularly administered drug which allows Garrett to focus.
Renzatic on 25/4/2013 at 00:05
Once again, they've never said they've stripped magic out of the game completely, rather they're downplaying it so it's tucked away in the dark corners of the world. IE the no mages shooting fireballs at you and whatnot.
