NuEye I don't mind...
if they make their job right, I won't even have to watch it often... right, third person cutscenes. But hey - I still don't mind NuEye.:cheeky:

...right, third person cutscenes.
Don't forget about the in-game forced 3rd-person switching.

Your argument is strewn with over-generalization, which obfuscates jtr's point, Renz...As in this case, there will be a lasting, quantified, quick-reference to a specific aspect.
There's always gonna be some in between in cases like this. There'll be some people who love the new stuff. Some people who hate it. Some people who don't care so long as they get a game to play. Zylonbane. But most of the time, there's always a group of people who freak right slap the hell out and assume the worst about everything they see. Every little thing is seen as proof that They Don't Get it, They Don't Care About Us, They Don't Understand X.
This is especially true if it's a sequel to a beloved game series.
I've seen it happen so many times by now, not just for Thief or Deus Ex, that it's practically old hat.

I want to see more intricate clockwork devices, richer technology that melds with magic and Tesla's untapped genius, and a stronger, creepier narrative quality. That has not one thing to do with 1998-2000, except for the fact that no Thief title since has gone for a richer world, a world that goes beyond the visible borders and is more intricate and lovingly crafted inwardly. The new eye is TDS's boring eye with a color change, smoke, and an on/off switch. If he can upgrade it to have thermal vision--:eww: .

Omg. Just .... omg. Horrible likeness of the Garrett we've all come to know & love. TDS cleaned him up waaaayyy too much (& shaved about a decade off his looks) and now EM has darkened & dirtied him to the opposite extreme. What's with the nose? Oh Gawd, nevermind.
I'm getting a headache.
And what jtr said.

His eye glows because he needs to stand out in a crowd.

He needs to look kewl for the 3rd-Person combat players. If it illuminates his surroundings or can be spotted by AIs it will be worse than in TDS.
