Hi everyone,
It's no secret that I'm going to publish my MOD soon. But there's an element in Thief that I'd like to get rid of:
When Garrett is in a dark environment, his suit will kinda "light up" ("reflecting nothing")if you know what I mean. Does anyone know how to remove this suit-relfection-thingy?
I hop some one does. It's annoying that even in darkness Garrett's is visible. My night vision is of rididculos use with this.
Regards,
T.W.Ayalew.

I have to tell that I'm very impatient for the exiting of your mod. As we say here, I don't stay in my skin...
Something tells me that it will be very interesting mission...

Eh...OK. But do you know how to remove that light suit of Garrett?

That is tied into the frob hilight system. No known way of disabling it that I have ever found. Perhaps someone else will.

I'm disabling garrett's "glow" by using Myagi's patch to make the highlight completely black, but that makes the frob highlighting invisible too, so it isn't the best method.

Disable atomic-blue frob highlight
Contributed by Myagi
This will eliminate the electric blue corona that appears when you frob an object and replace it with a flat color of your choice. It looks very similar to the frob effect in Thief and Thief 2. YYou can download Myagi's patch (
http://www.tnlc.com/eep/thief.html) here, (
ftp://212.97.170.118/T3_patcher_by_Myagi.zip) here, (
http://hellfish.org/~kookoo/t3tw/T3_patcher_by_Myagi.zip) here, or (
http://dark_god7.home.mindspring.com/T3_patcher_by_Myagi.zip) here. This patch also allows you to disable the loot percentage readout when you pick up loot, disable loot glint, and disable arrow trails. Download the file and extract the EXE into your Thief 3/System directory and run it. A menu will appear, where you can choose what you want to enable and disable.
Mr. K. and Eep have provided some links to help convert RGB color to the zero-one color settings used in Myagi's patch.
KNOWN BUGS: Garrett will "glow" in third person in your chosen color. Some items may become unfrobbable.

Exactly as I said...it's tied into the frob highlight system. There might be a way around it, but nothing anyone has found yet. So far, you can't alter one without affecting the other.

Try to play with Actor Classes Browser->Actor->Pawn->PlayerPawn->LightLevel(on Property frame)->BrightnessWeights and LightLevelOffsetWeights, then save the changed classes, and tell me what it do.

No, that's the calculating system for Thief. Anyway. I have a way to reduce the effect. This is what I've done:
>A new Suit for Garrett (sorry, no more Assassins Creed look) which is gray. Gray is a good blending color.
>New Gamma levels to reduce the lightning effect and make darkness stronger.
So, even that's not a problem anymore.

Calculating system??? What you mean??
I've tried Assassin's Creed, but I gave up after just a couple of plays: it has an horrible interface, and I HATE third person...

For calculating the effects that light has on Garrett/the lightgem.
