My computer randomly stops clicking.
However, it isn't for all places. This will randomly effect a single or multiple windows for a short period of time. E.G. I might be able to work in Chrome just fine, but clicking on the taskbar or in another window will result in nothing happening. When it happens it also impacts all input devices (both a touchpad and a mouse) that I am using at any given time so I know it's not failing hardware.
I'm searching the web and there doesn't seem to be any combination of google search that brings up this specific issue. Any ideas?

It just got weirder. I tried playing a game and the error kicked in. The way this manifested was that when clicking on the game it clicks through and the game begins acting as if it was minimized.

I had something similar awhile ago when I was experimenting with win10 a bit, and it turned out to be some sort of windows overlay that was supposed to do some thing or another.

I got that frustratingly frequently on my Win7 machine, and finally figured out how to fix it. I use the back button on my mouse (MOUSE4) as my Teamspeak bind, and I'm on Teamspeak most of the time I'm at my home computer. The problem seems to be related to where my cursor is the moment I open my bind. When I get that issue, I move the cursor to my taskbar and click the bind a couple times, and that has the effect of restoring the clicking functionality.
I can't reproduce the issue on command (chiefly because I don't realize the issue has occurred until I've already moved the cursor to click something), but the fix for it does work on a consistent basis for me.
