Okay, I'm a tad confused. I have executed all of the writs they gave me in Balmora. So, then I go to Sadrith Mora. No writs. So, I go see the big boss in Vivec and rapidly advance through the ranks to White Brothers. But he has no writs for me either, so I guess I can go no further. Now what?
Am I missing a Morag Tong location? They're not real helpful about finding each other. Hehehe.

The writs are available from all the questgivers, and they are all the same. But the Grandmaster gives you a series of 'special duties', and there are also the Threads of the Webspinner, that is, if you find any magic items called 'sanguine sth or other' you can hand them in to Eno, and when you give him all 27 (or rather 26, cos he's got one already) you get a reward.
Unfortunately, Eno doesn't seem to give you any prompts as to the sanguine items location; they tend to be on people who attack you in Daedric shrines, and you come across them throughout the game. Unless there is a bug in my game- is he actually supposed to direct you to the items?
I might have missed something- I'm still doing the MT quests (my original char didn't join them). Someone shopuld be able to tell us if there are any other MT quests.
Incidentally, if I kill the Hlaalu woman in the Treasury, will House Hlaalu still talk to me?

When collecting the sanguine items if you want the reward don't advance to grandmaster. Because when you are grandmaster he dissappears with the items you've given him, unless you choose to duel him for the rank but that just means you get the items back. If you talk about "grandmaster" at the highest or second to highest rank then you will be forced into killing him or making him retire and dissappear.
No other quests except the writs and special duties. Except one to kill the guy in Balmora which you get from a guy in the Vivec base, but that doesn't give you a rank, just an item.
And you shouldn't have got expelled from House Hlaalu but it will say in your stats if you did(where the rank would be).

I've just remembered that there are also the grandmaster writs which you get after you've become a grandmaster.
As to my question about killing a fellow Hlaalu, the reason I asked was that I went and killed the Hlaalu woman, and then the guy in the treasury hallway wouldn't talk to me. He said something like, 'I can't do anything about it because it was all legal, but you have killed a fellow Hlaalu and I shall not forget it, goodbye'
I was worried that everyone else in Hlaalu would do this too, so I reloaded. I thought I'd rather become a grandmaster first, just in case.
Do you get to keep your stronghold if you get chucked out of a great house?

Well they aren't going to unbuild it, are they? people inside won't like you that much but it will still be legally yours. And if you do get expelled then you can re join a certain number of times; you might only be able to rejoin once with Hlaalu(most of guilds you can only rejoin once but guilds like Telivanni don't really care) but if you make sure you don't get expelled again before becoming grandmaster then it won't really matter.

Okay, got it, thanks for the help. And thanks for the tip on not advancing too far. I made that mistake once before (in the Mage's Guild) and instead of just taking over, I had to duel Trebonius...not that it was terrible to do that, I suppose. He does have an awfully nice staff. :)
I'm at the point now that the Morag Tong is the last guild/house whose quests I want to complete. After this, it's freelance adventuring and then on to the expansion packs.
Thanks again!
