John9818a...I was really looking forward to this play but....
Well I'm afraid I had to give it up :( I tried at least 5 times to grab BJ and key to open door before he struck her and killed. I also thought about rug on floor but didn't see it highlight to frob? I was only playing Normal and there just doesn't seem to be enough time to position myself fast enough to frob BJ and have to wait for him to come in to frob key so I can unlock door before he hits her twice and she dies? Just not enough time and I've ran over naturally, but then I have to crouch to lean through enough to get BJ (which mainly I can get done) but then waiting to get key and open door is where I keep failing as by then he's killed her. I would have thought that if I got BJ before he got in he would not have touched her and then would have the opportunity to then get his key to get out...and then you say no killing...how in the heck am I supposed to get out of the cell without his key and save her from being killed with my BJ when he comes in so quick and starts attacking her while I'm trying to get his key and open door and he's already hit her once while I'm getting key and by the second hit I don't even have door open yet? So I guess I feel that for Normal play this has been made a bit too difficult to get a start in IMHO :(
I did post a link to your game however over at Eidos last night so ppl over there could get it if they wished :) Thanks for the release however as I'm sure others will find it very entertaining :) Ta and Good Hunting!

Fire Eater -
Keep trying with the brown patch on the floor. There is no key that will open your door. Just grab the BJ, frob the dirt patch/bedroll, and drop down into the hole it reveals. It's pretty easy...once you get it right!
Of course, I was also one of those people who had to restart over...and over...and over...at first!

This is an excellent remake . I started thinking this would be a small drab little mission , but the gameplay kept on getting better and better . Given the size of the zip file , this mission was a pleasant surprise . :)

I'm sorry you had so much trouble. I didn't mean for it to be so hard.
Just get the blackjack and then crouch near the bedroll and frob it to open it. Step into the hole and crouch, and then walk toward the light.
You will need the key later but for a different purpose.

Thanks!! :D
I wanted to do more but I was near the max object limit. It's bascically my old mission except you traverse the city in the opposite direction. At least this way there is more than one way to get out of the police station, whereas before there was only one way to get in.

Well Ok John...perhaps I'll reconsider and give it another try then.
I guess maybe it was somewhat misleading when you said not to let her get killed??? Cause then I can only assume you meant before you can get the BJ? Cause that guard comes in, finds her there and starts to hack her. If I get BJ and leave through hole in floor...I'm sure not going to be able to help her seems to me? Is that the idea then?
Now I need to get it again, LOL, as I really became discouraged enough not to feel I needed to keep it. So thanks for the helper and I hope I'll have better things to say later :D You do tend to make your FM's somewhat tougher in general I think however. :) Ta and Good Hunting!

I never even got the BJ, but when I went into the hole, the objective still checked off. Plus,
I triggered a bonus objective (something about having a dream), but it won't stay checked off. I found a button in mid air in a closet that would check it off, but it won't stay that way.
I'm also almost 600 short of the required 2000 loot and have looked everywhere. Haven't found the ring either. Must be one of those tiny ones. I hate those. Anyone get the required loot? Where's that friggin' ring?
It's easy to get on the roofs in this mission and produce some glitches in the graphics depending where you look, and to get to some "off limits" areas. I prefer FMs like this one, relatively small in Mb, but big on playing time.:thumb:
Edit: Found more loot, now up to 1944.
By the way, what does that
frobbable book on the shelf reveal? I frobbed it but couldn't tell what it did.

The book opens a banner in the room where you turned off some off some the security cameras not far from that room. This is where the ring is. You are doing very well with the loot objective I have just over 500 to go. I've got the loot behind Bafford's painting, the secret in the basement storage room and the loot under the bridge not far from the guard tower. Where did you find any hard to find loot?
nchw68 on 22/2/2004 at 16:45
Sir Lance,
Well I guess the
loot behind the banner is hard to find.:p Thanx for the tip on that. But that coin stack only got me up to 1969. When I was almost 600 short, I realized I'd forgotten to traverse a hallway in the Bafford manor that had three purple tapestries and behind one of them was a plate. At the end of that hall was a room with a chest that had a coin stack. These two items put me at 1944, which seems strange. I found a tiara at the bottom of a water tank, some coins at the end of the frozen waterway where the machinery is, a gem sitting on top of a stanchion in the waterway, and that's all I can remember besides the others you found.
This seems to be a pretty stiff loot requirement as I've grown quite bored looking for that little bit that will put me at the required amount. Gonna move on and keep checking here to see if anyone finds it all.
