The writing in FO3 runs the gamut from great to crap, with a middling main quest. Typical Bethesda game. Not really a solid argument.
FO3 was alright. A better comparison to FO1 & 2 would be, of course, New Vegas. Which was awesome from top to bottom, despite not being a Fallout title in the original mold.
It's also a perfect example of how changing tons of stuff doesn't necessarily kill the feel, style, or intelligence of the originals its based off of.

The weird thing about the New Vegas comparison is that while Fallout 3 stuck to the early/mid-50s Americana thing like glue, New Vegas edged things into an early 1960s bent. A lot of the old ads, posters, and general marketing for pre-war stuff is straight out of 1962.

I'd say they did that because when you think of Vegas back then, you almost immediately think of the lounge lizard Sinatra era. It's a little later than the mid 50's of the other Fallouts, but it fits the setting of the game a helluva lot better.

Uh...
middling main quest? How about horribly railroaded downward spiral of awfulness?
Anyway, just look at the reactivity Fallout 1-2 had in their dialogue. Hell, just look at New Vegas -- it's ten times the Fallout game that Fallout 3 was.

No.

No.
I can't believe you would seriously defend Fallout 3's main quest. It was easily the worst part of the entire game. From the extremely limited options to bad writing to the horrible railroading to almost no C&C whatsoever.

No.

Funny how Dethtoll has the guts to call people autistic and whatnot (which is extremely degoratory) and resorts to posts like these himself.

Hey man, I am accepting of other peoples' conditions.
But I'm not sure what your point is.
