Well, just started playing this game and I'm done with the Statue of Libert mission and about to move on to the next one. This is easily one of the better games I've played.
Now, a question. The AI seems kinda loose some times (yes I know the game is old). I mean, I can stand 15m behind a terrorist and shoot with the pistol, and sometimes, even tho my x-hair is on his torso, the bullet misses. Nothing wrong with that, but the enemy doesnt move as much as an inch! It's like he didnt "hear" the gunshot.
Another time, an enemy was going for me but he suddenly started strafing right, you know, when you only pressing the right arrow key without pressing the forward key at the same time.
I also found it weird that a terrorist ran straight thru the laser-detector and went to turn on the alarm instead of trying to attack me.
Now, these aren't complaints. These are small issues that aren't big enough to ruin the great gamingexperience, I just thought I'd write it here in case I have done something wrong (God knows what that would be).
I'm playing with the v1.112fm patch.
Anyway, thanks for reading.

Well, in the future it's possible that pistols are rather quiet. Plus there's the suit he's wearing, and all the background noise. Had you been moving? You need to stay still for your weapons to become accurate.
As for the guy going for the alarm, well I think I'd want my buddies and a have dozen robots on the way than have to deal with a super-soldier myself.
Glad to hear it doesn't annoy or frustrate you. Liberty Island is the worst part of the game, things pick up quickly after that.

All of those sound like pretty standard behavior, though the terrorist's hearing might get better with increased difficulty.
The running away thing can be used to exploit the game, actually. If you injure anyone enough, he or she will run away and be able to open any door.

Oh, I'd love to play DX for the first time again.
Yeah, it has its glitches and the first level is amongst the worst in the game - so if you're enjoying it so far good times're incoming.

What's really funny is when you can carry around a supply crate and use it to baffle enemies and security cameras... like a certain map which requires a true stealthy approach, I won't spoil it but its one of the times where being caught can fail the mission for you... I went around using a medical supply crate to get close to commandos and prod them right out in the open when nobody was looking.
Also useful in those instances where there's a camera guarding the terminal that shuts down the camera, you can use a supply crate to hide from the camera while you reach the terminal and hack it... what's really funny is that the camera should "see" you, I should get a screenshot of it where I'm looking through the camera via the terminal I'm hacking and clearly see myself hiding behind the crate.
The way it works is, for example you have a guy walking back and forth but he is too far away to get to him from cover while his back is turned, because he will turn around again before you reach him... so you take a supply crate and move closer while his back is turned, then drop it silently and hide before he turns around... wait until he patrols closer then turns his back again, and now you will be close enough to actually sneak up while his back is turned and zap him, or you could use the crate to actually get by him completely.
And as for alarms, alarm buttons make great traps... you can put a LAM by it and blow up anyone that uses it along with the button itself, or if you don't like killing you can rig it with a gas grenade instead and it should at least delay them from activating it until the gas effect wears off... gassed enemies tend to just stand there and cough, unless you hang around too long or try to attack them, because then they will shoot you.

I'm glad you said that. I've just started playing it for the first time and found the first mission really dull, with lots of open space and no light gem or similar to help me know if I was hidden or not (I'm a Thief player).
I enjoyed the dialogue immediately after the mission but that's as far as I have got.
Looking forward to the rest of the game again now.

Man, let me just say. There's NOTHING like pepperspraying two terrorists and then give them a headshot each!

Hmm, where can I get more augments? Just finished the 2nd mission: Hell's Kitchen but the med-bot back at HQ says there are no augments availible. I want the speed thing!
Also, what are the main differences between playing on normal and realistic? More realistic yes, but in what ways? I'd really like to know.
Thanks

Patience. You'll get them all later in the game. They're hard to miss; they're glowy blue canisters after all.
If I recall correctly Realistic meant you die faster, but enemies die pretty fast too.
