Flip? Doubtful. Cave? More likely. I've already got more than half the family begging me via voice mail not to let this go to court. He'll play stubborn til the very end,but eventually, he will pay. And even on the off chance he doesn't, I doubt a short, out of shape, middle aged Indian guy with far more to lose than to gain will resort to violence.
Worst that will happen here is it'll go to court, and I'll have to suffer the interest while the case is held up for the next year or so.

I can and I am. Though of course they're fighting it.
I just got off the phone with my lawyer and have learned that they too have grabbed their own lawyer. Apparently after a few discussions with their legal council, the best they can do is agree to pay me X amount per month and I knock off the amount for one of the store locations I just wired. I've agreed to payments at 20% interest, but I want the money for everything I've done. For now, I guess the only thing I can do is accept payment for the fully finished stores, then turn around and sue them for breach of contract to get the other locations.
I mean it's so incredibly stupid what they've done. They told me to run the wire, which is double shielded RG6 double shielded siamese cable, costs me about $130 per 500 foot, then turn around after two months of it sitting there, and run their own cheap CAT5 cable for the cheap cameras they installed on site. Now they don't want to pay me for the cable I've already ran, and I refuse to knock the price off or pick up the cable they've removed. Unfortunately, both lawyers have said I can't collect on that unless I take it to court, so...guess I'm screwed there. For now anyway.
And to make matters worse, they didn't go a good job hanging their wire. It's obviously a sloppy rush job, with loops hanging visible all throughout the store, and attached their their cheap $30 Sams Clubs cameras. That wouldn't be so bad if they didn't expect me to fix it and support their new cameras, which they don't like because they're running at half the resolution of the ones I usually install. It's not my problem, I told them. Unfortunately it now is, because apparently they showed that store location to their lawyer when explaining why they weren't paying me.
I swear, I've never dealt with anyone so blatantly dishonest. And despite all my efforts, I'm almost afraid he's gonna get away with it.

Best of luck with this, Dishonesty isn't something that should ever be gotten away with.
