Oh god, peanuts. The only food I just can't stop eating. Even chocolate has a limit, but not peanuts. Oh wait, sunflower seeds too. Leave enough of both somewhere easily accessible and I'll eventually explode. :(

I went to a casino buffet once that had a chocolate fountain and peel em and eat em shrimp ALREADY PEELED. I knew I had ascended to something greater.
So, are chocolate covered shrimp any good?
As for snack foods, grapes don't tend to last long in our house.

Can anyone else relate?
Absolutely. Ripping into the shell of a pistachio or peanut or similar in order to munch on the delicious flesh contained therein is wonderfully theraputic. It also gives idle handses something to do, precious.
Plus they taste GREAT
Tell us MsLedd.. or at least tell me!

I absolutely cannot pass up pistachios and peanuts in salted shells. (That's how I learned that mammary glands were originally invented for catching peanutshell remnants.)

Mine (mammaries) must be defective cause all the shells and bits of peanut just end up in the couch cushions and all over my lap.. :(

'k, we need to talk, dear. ;)

It's true! For some reason shelling each individual pistachio adds to its flavor... they're not nearly as tasty when you just eat a bunch unshelled. Maybe it's the gratification of the fussy handwork, maybe it's that lovely *crack* sound they make... we're accessing our inner squirrel.
Hershey's Kisses have the same effect on me. I have proven through EXHAUSTIVE SCIENTIFIC STUDIES, which involved the sacrifice of eating a lot of them, that they taste better when you unwrap each one before eating it.

Exhaustive scientific studies, eh? I must clearly change my field of scientific research!

Roasted pumpkin seeds are pretty tasty if not a bit chewey. You can roast them at home.
However nuts in any kind of dessert are just a waste and should be banned.
And there is the Oregon filbert.
