DF,
Were you wondering if the game automatically makes you stand up if you're crouched when you open a door? Did you ever find out about that?

No dethtoll, that's a silly line of thought.
That's like someone asking why won't their modern car accelerate faster than 0-60 in 20s and you linking to some archived story about the model T Ford.
That was the past and it especially makes no sense in a new game that has an element of climbing and exploring, especially if it's a new Thief (or Nissan GTR).
Don't undermine me when I'm working here.

OK. My bad. Carry on.

Gonna rant and roll here a little bit...
...just like I think it's really inappropriate to use the word "retarded"...
Okay, my turn.
I regards to your larger point, I agree that it's possible to be unnecessarily nasty and personal and as a general rule I think you should challenge the opinion, not the man. But there are some people the spew enough nonsense as to become deserving of ad hominem attacks.
We all come to this forum for similar reasons. I come to this anticipation forum because I'm anticipating Thief (I think it'll be disappointing but the originals are amongst my favourite games so I'm interested and invested).
Why
should I have to put up with people basically shitting in threads with utter nonsense like:

The only reason why pre-removed DLC content exists is to disincetivize finding out whether the product is good or not because they know it isn't good enough.
Why?
If I started posting utter crap like that in every other thread you can be sure that YOU would be one of the people who would call me out on it. This is a Thief anticipation forum, not a tinfoil hat brain dump forum, or a rage against the technology forum. The number of illogical views and arguments expressed in here actually offends me. It's like I went to a literary book club and some people only want to talk about the latest stories from Take A Break magazine.
And as to your "retard" complaint - that has to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen you post, by a country mile. Retard is not a racist word, it is not a politically incorrect word, it is just a word that describes something. Complaining about this is like the overweight people in this country who complain that being classed as Obese when they are 1.75cm tall and 150kg in weight is offensive. It's just a fact. It's language and that's what we call that. It's like someone taking offence because you said someone who is black is darker than someone who isn't!

Er, technically, it is politically incorrect and offensive, which is why I don't say it too often as a personal insult.
I don't have a problem with "autism ward" though, because a lot of the behaviour from certain people in this subforum (and, indeed, fandom purists in general) is convergent with symptoms of autism-spectrum disorder.

I'm going to argue against your accusation that my statement is retarded by saying that if publishers had confidence in their products, they would release a demo because they couldn't wait for people to get to play it themselves. If publishers have no confidence in their products, they need to resort to underhanded tactics, by creating incentives for consumers to not find out anything about the product that they have not released themselves. With pre-orders, you buy something based on only the carefully crafted marketing material. You don't buy it based on the actual quality of the product. Not wanting people to get an impression of the actual product, and trying to incentivize getting it based only on marketing material shows lack of confidence in the quality.
Care to share now why that doesn't make sense?
SubJeff on 2/2/2014 at 10:41
The reason we don't get demos is because of the time and money it takes to make them.
I'm not going to explain why your DLC argument is nonsense because it's just so ridiculous it's not worth mine, or anyone else's, time.

It's not 1999 anymore. The demo is dead. Get used to it.

Fine, then. Well, you are incorrect.

No, he really isn't, as the post I linked to attests.
