Couldn't you just spend some time 'house hunting' until you find something suitable? And then you could either 'evict' (ahem) the previous tenants, or maybe you'll be lucky and come across something empty. With my last character I set up my home in the cabin of the ship moored in Ebonheart. Very cosy and close to transport hubs too.
I just think that mods that add houses usually are very sterile. Like the Persimmon homes of Morrowind, really, where couples go to rear their young in safety. I think it's more fun to find a dwelling in a location that suits your character. For example, my boat guy was a roaming Nord, used to the high seas. But if you were some evil son-of-a-bitch then maybe set up camp in a Daedric ruin or something!

Ya that sounds cool. I just really wanted the maniquins (spelling?) to display my armour and weapons. Ill try your idea though. Thanks guy.

Really, you should build your own. You only need to find a mannequin mod to group with yours. Anyway, "A good place to stay" is a really nice house mod that I used often until I built my own. It can be found at Morrowind Summit. But because I'm feeling generous:
