Somebody sued Satan The Prince of Darkness in Virginia (I think) a number of years ago.
When we were learning about legal archives, we looked it up and the judge actually basically played it straight faced, finding that while the claim was technically valid (mental anguish, a tort), that unfortunately the court did not have jurisdiction over hell or its citizens. (I think he was cheating a little, though, since of course if the harm of a tort happens in the district that's enough for jurisdiction.) I should find the quote.
edit: Bleh, stupid mistake... The court didn't have personal jurisdiction over Satan, even if it had SM jurisdiction over the tort. ... Well, unless you want to say Satan had enough 'minimum contacts' to the state because he's doing so much 'business' there. Holy shit, can't believe I'm even asking that. Do you see what happens when you open the door to this crap?
edit2: They'd also have to have a proper summons of Satan to the court. I suppose they could draw a pentagram in the courtroom and summon him that way...

But the BBC's Sebastian Usher says genies, or jinn, in Islamic theology can be a lot more sinister.
The guy must be a specialist. The Ushers know enough about haunted houses.

Looks like Jeannie's ready to give that bottle a hummer. Kinda adds some meaning to the blurb "...she's really that good!"

Possibly the ghost is the indigenieous owner of the house, so that family committed Tresspass. Thus the genie should sue them.
I wonder if the police will exorcise it full might to remove them.
