ok first in all the Dwemner places there are those strange machines, you can look at them and it seems as if they are activators at least they pop up with a name like an activator I have tried to put all kinds odd dwemner artifacts in them or in my inventory,what I need to know is can you turn these machines on or off or activate them some how with anything in your inventory or am I just waisting time?
secound if I have a quest that requires a certain dwemner artifact and I already have that particular piece can i just use that piece or is the piece from a certain Dwemner place needed?
P.S. just a yes or no will sufice dont give away to much;)

No you can't use the BIG dwemer machines (IE Steamcontraption in the Blood Gallery/Deep Mining Thing, or the one with the wheel).
I think your talking about a tube. If so yes.
If you are talking about the other dwemer thing, no.
