Good point Stevie, i'm now playing the 1st part of the game for the 2nd time, and because I know when certain events should happen it's allowing me to enjoy the game, not search around trying to solve a puzzle that can't be solved yet...
I must also thank you for the rare commodity of a post in response to mine which dosen't criticise me, is well written, and even addresses the point of the thread...

I actually enjoyed playing Arx more the second time round than the first, because I felt I could experiment more with the world, whilst knowing I wasn't going to unwittingly break the quest structure or do something I wasn't supposed to do. Arx Fatalis is a very easy game to damage in that way.
