Hey guys, I'm not sure exactly what level I'm on, but it is the tunnels where the little girl is taken and I have to rescue her from the cult.
Anyway, it looks like a section of the wall should be able to move near where you first enter, and there's also a torch that moves aside to reveal a keyhole. I can't find the key for either one. Also, there is a chest in this same area that requires a key to open, haven't been able to find that one either. And a doorway that is covered by a purple field of energy, near where the snakewomen are.
I'm also praying I didn't break the game. :/ I managed to talk to the lead snakewoman, and right now I'm at the ice dragon and have initiated that conversation as well, completely out of sequence. So I might have screwed up the game. I don't know yet, guess I'll find out in a couple days.
Oh yeah, there's also a tunnel behind the ice dragon that I can't seem to get into. I have a scroll of levitate, but I can't find a good spot to levitate up to, to get to the exact height of the tunnel. I'm either too high up in the air, or too low to get into it. Is there a good spot to stand to get into that tunnel?

You cant get in the dragon's tunnel. It's out of bounds. I tried get there with the flying eye and after it, is a black wall.
The torch you move to reveal the keyhole leads to the crypt and the key is inside it.
And how where you able to enter the order of ederneum temple before you need zohark? I'm kind of lost, but i think the purple field you mentioned leads to the temple of ilusions. And I think the chest you mentioned is either the "start treasure hunt chest" that opens with an emerald,or the "finish treasure hunt chest" that open with the key you find after folowing the tips of the treasure hunt.
The other section of wall you mentioned is near the lake? If so, you should notice that the lock for it is kind of special. You shall receive the key from Alia later on.
If I am right, you have'nt ruined the game, IF you are on the quest for krahoz and Zohark. If not, I think you only talked to Iclash, the Gatekeeper of the order of the nakewomen.
Hope I helped

Thanks, I will try an emerald on the chest. Yes, the section of wall is near a lake, I am not sure where the keyhole is to open it though. I assumed it was the one behind the torch. Where can I find the keyhole for this section of the wall, so I don't get lost when Alia gives me the key?
The key is in the torch? Okay, I will check that out later on today.
As far as the chest, it is in a room with two doors, and there are two chests in the room. One is pickable, one is not. This is all on the same level, so you don't get too confused as to locations.
How do I remove the field to get into the temple of illusions? Remove field scroll?
And yes, I talked to the lead snakewoman for zohark ahead of time. :/ It kind of spoiled the plot for me, since it triggered the whole cutscene. I will explain. There is an area on the level where you can levitate and get into the treasure room of the snakewomen. If you lower the field and exit the room, the snakewomen will attack you. I opened the door, quaffed an invisibility potion, and then went into the library opposite. When I left the library, the snakewomen were no longer aggressive and I managed to talk to the lead snakewoman. I'm hoping I didn't ruin anything.
Thanks for all the help!

Ha! I didn't realize you could do that. Are you playing on PC or XBOX, btw?

Haven't played in a while but I think that behind that purple field is not Temple of Illusions (you will get there later) but entrance to the final area, which you can only enter at the end of the game.
It seems you did a lot of things before you were supposed to, but I don't think that will screw up your game. Just try following the main quest, you will have enough time to explore the levels.
You might also check RPGdot's guide to Arx Fatalis as there are maps of each level.

I'm on PC. I guess I'll get back to the main quest, then. This should make the game more interesting, leastways.

THAT purple field! I dont advise you to enter just yet. you would be very surprised.
As for the secret passage, I had no idea you could get them to stop be agressive. But dont worry, you will never screw the game for doing things you shouldnt, because the game was made in a way that you can always end it, no matter what you do.
The chest that opens with the emerald is one of the room with 2 doors, the one that is pickable.
The keyhole to the sectionn near the lake is not near any torch, is left of the section, near the grond. Its kind of lower than other keyholes you find, and its not an ordinary "hole". Hope I havent got you confused

What about for the unpickable chest?
mrle01 on 10/2/2009 at 18:53
You'll find the key for it if you follow the "Treasure Hunt" quest.

Instead of folowing the clues, you can always go pick up the key at its spot before starting the treasure hunt! Pick up a shovel and go to the mines before the goblin city, and press F to use the shovel whith the cursor over it while inside a small hole near a pit of spiders. if you need more help finding the right spot, look for a walkthrough.
