While it was nice that AMK team has expanded some dialogues, especially for characters in the Bar, the quality of the translation is even worse... Mostly I had little idea what the characters are trying to say, and the fact I'm not native English speaker just added to it. :cheeky:

It's certain games that are very rough around the edges but do some things almost to perfection that tend to get to me most: either they annoy me most or they pull me in most. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries for them to go from the former category to the latter.
Operation Flashpoint was one of those games, as was
Stalker. Once I accepted the shortcomings, I was able to enjoy what was there a lot. However, I understand that some people never made it past the annoyance stage.
Games is like people, they're a whole lot more interesting when they show their flaws. I think when there aren't any real flaws, let's say Half-Life 2, you begin to nitpick. You enjoy what it does well
even less. Whereas I wouldn't say Deus Ex or Stalker have any flaws because nothing detracted from my enjoyment. Their visible quirks and blemishes actually brought me closer to the game.

I didn't think the text in Stalker was too bad. It's a bit daunting when it all pops up like that in one big chunk to slog through, but it's not really that long.
The mods on the other hand, weee haaa that's a lot of text.

Well the text in mods was mostly optional - stories, rumors, etc.

Excellent point.
