I was playing through again and I think there was originally another character at the UNATCO HQ, named killian lloyd. you hear reference in a note to theft of supplies, and are told about it at the armory. later when escaping if you didn't alienate the woman from the ladies room you can get her to confess that she was stealing with killian. there is information in the MJ12 base on every computer account for UNATCO and there is an account user:klloyd pass:target. every other account in UNATCO follows the pattern first initial, last name, so that's why I assume there was a character killian lloyd and maybe a quest about turning him in.

As I recall, Lloyd is the name of the private at UNATCO's front desk, though I don't remember if that code and login will ever work at his computer. As for Shannon, she doesn't say Killian, but rather Kaplan, who is the guy who you could buy ammo or a scope mod from during the first mission.

Yes, Lloyd is the guy at the front desk. I was only able to log into his PC once (I think the second time in HQ). If there are no e-mails to view I don't think the computers in HQ will let you log onto them. Anyway, Lloyd's login is "klloyd" password "target." I've always wondered about that password, considering most of them have double meanings (like "amigo"). Maybe because the designers expected you to kill him the last time in HQ?

Lloyd is an interesting character because he provides an important piece of information. He is proof that JC did indeed attend the academy, as they were in the same class (although the class must have been huge). The fact that JC required training shows that the wetware aspect of the genetic engineering is not advanced enough to cover learnt skills. I guess this was implied by skill points, but this is an in game plot given evidence of the technolgical limitations of Page Industries in the 2050s. So what does all this have to do with anything? Well since JC was engineered, one wonders how long he actually lived before the game ended. The information which Lloyd gave suggests JC is around 0.5-1 year old by the time we assume his role. It also shows that anything from 1-1.5 years has passed since the intro when Page and Simons spoke.

At Area 51, the datacube on JC's cloning tank states that he has a fake birthdate (the year all non-MJ12 personell think he was born), and a real birthdate (when he was actually manufactured). However, in the DX Bible, no such thing is mentioned. Instead, we are told that JC is really Paul's clone, and that he really was born 23 years before the game's end. The Bible and the game seem to disagree with each other. Does anyone know the true facts?

The true fact is that JC was engineered at Area 51 and was given fake memory implants. I am really annoyed that the DX Continuity Bible didn't bother to have a disclaimer section which should explain that the bible was meant to be a general guide of plot intention. The plot subsequently changed for the better during game developement.

This is a bad thing, as plot errors can crop up. Me, I'm just hoping that they only released an old version of it, lest we find out too much about DX2.
