It is stronger and more bitter than beers usually are, so that can explain your reaction to it ;)
It's not that -- it's something more along the lines of diarrhea.

You are insane.

Czech beers get my vote, too.

So any of you guys believe in 'different types of alcohol are prone to give different reactions?' Like my father likes his beer and wine but swears whiskey makes him violent, which is fairly out of character. I've only really drank beer so I can't be sure.

Well if there's a difference between the Czech and the American versions, maybe not. Next time I'm in the liquor store I'll see where it was brewed.

hey guys i'm allergic to beer recommend me some ice cold brewskies :thumb:
Ice cold polish vodka is a treat. Zubrowka and Wyborova are both readily available outside of Poland but I will stab anyone who tries to mix them with whatever cheap cherryade (or equivalent mixer) they can find. They deserve to be drunk straight.

Please do. The Czech version never caused similar problems to anyone I know. If it did, it's because the pub is not worth your time.
The popular breweries in Czech Rep. often offer a Certificate to pubs/restaurants that sell the beer of the desired quality (clean pipes, good temperature, etc). If you'd spend your time here, you'll notice the pubs which have those really have better tasting beer, although it is the same brand as elsewhere.
There also is a huge difference in transport - best tasting beer comes from "Tanks". Those are huge metal containers that contain beer in a special rubber (latex) "sock" that separates the pushing air from the beer. The beer thus does not get in contact with air till served. Then there are the traditional barrels which only offer good beer for one or two days after opening. Bottled beer tastes way differently.
Edit: Damn all the thinking about beer. I'll have to visit a pub today evening!

And I confess to having been thrown out of a pub many years ago in Bembridge, IoW, for singing those verses suitable for the female gender. Unfortunately, we were in the children's room at the time - though naturally there were no children present during said rendition. And (

I am not the most experienced beer drinker around, but I do know that if you want great beer and aren't afraid of spending some money, then I could recommend pretty much any trappistbeer. I myself am particularly partial to Westmalle and Chimay. :thumb:
