Yes, let's look at that.
Oil Bush has gained = Nada
Oil Bush's "friends" have gained = Nada
Price of oil in the US = +
I can see your point. ;)
Just because they haven't really got a lot of the oil yet doesn't mean it's not important. By permanently occupying Iraq they have secured it for US use for decades to come. Cheney didn't put together his energy force task for nothing.
The price of oil has gone up (which btw benefits oil companies) a lot simply because demand is way up, especially in China and even India.
It's for the same reason Iran is interesting for the west. Got nothing to do with nukes or even terrorism.

Bush got a report RIGHT before the 9/11 incedent that SUGGESTED that an attack involving a jet liner MAY happen. That means that it could have been a transatlantic flight or anything. Reports like this come in all the time. It was Clinton and Gore wore had the chance to stop the dirtbags behind 9/11.
If 10 people told you that in 2 weeks, someone is going to burn down your house with your family in it, are you going to just say 'Well, if it happens, it happens.'??? That’s what happened here. We knew it MIGHT happen yes, but why wait for it to happen when all they had to do is put the radio communications operators at a higher alert so when they see a plane heading 4 hours off course, they can call someone. Do you think they noticed that and said "oh well, it happens." NO, I guarantee someone was talking to the US from that plane. They had to have known the attack was taking place with plenty of time to do something. What about the phone calls made from the planes hours prior to the crashes? The ones made from the passengers... Does that not say enough to do something about it? Even on 1 hour's notice, they could have done something. They have the ability to control the planes remotely, don't they? or did that come out after 9/11..?

Sometimes I start a reply four or five times and then I just say "Fuck it" and wander off. This time, however, I'm at least going to reveal that I have been trying to come up with a reply that not only conveys my abject horror and general disappointment with the gene pool at large, but which also contains one or two
bon mots which I have dragged from my large sack of witheringly snarky phrases.
As it transpires, unfortunately, I can't be arsed.

And also I'd just like to say that the same thing happened here
vis à vis my inability to form a coherent reply through the red mist and tears of mocking laughter.

The "US" controls no oil. Individual companies in the US (Many of which are owned (or close to it) by foriegn muslims I may say) "control" oil. If anything, it has just given the Middle Eastern tycoons a stronger grip on the oil market.

We haven't "permanently occupied" Iraq. We have defeated their military force and are hunting down terrorists. We are going to pull out when that is done...just like in Cuba and the Phillipines.

What should he have done? Grounded all flights in the US and shot down incoming planes? The US is getting threats and reports like that daily. There was literally NOTHING he could do in that little time.

Nice way to say that you can't argue with the truth.

Whereas you just can't argue.
