It doesn't matter, his point is valid. The attack was a national tragedy, no more. Perhaps other countries were sympathetic, but I sure didn't see them mobilizing for war until Bush pressed them into it.
Please tell me you're not this stupid. The attack was an INTERNATIONAL tragedy, because it affected people from MANY NATIONS (Hint: Nations NOT called 'The United States of America') which I think Dia has taken care to list and point out about 209,209,832,028 times in this thread.
And if you think mobilizing for war is the hallmark of grief or loss for other nations who suffered in 9/11...well, fuck. I don't even know how to communicate with you.
My I.Q. is dropping by the second.

I forget how it was a Canadian tragedy. I don't remember there being an announcement or anything.

You guys didn't declare war first so you clearly didn't give fuck.

I'm not saying that mobilizing for war is an acid test. My point is that not all countries were affected EQUALLY. By FAR it is the U.S. that has remembered most. Bush used the reaction to 9/11 as a cause to go to war. Surely if other countries underwent the same degree of grief, they too would have jumped on the bandwagon? Now, tell me- if the whole world was affected, why is it that only four countries (Poland, UK, US, Australia) have sent more than 1000 troops each in the supposed 'war on terror'?

We're talking about New York, it's right near the border.

The thing is, Al-Quaeda declared war on the U.S. years ago. Was the bombing of the embassies not enough? Are people too stupid to take action BEFORE something like this happens?

Well, they were obviously new to it. Lord knows if I ever declare war on someone, they're sure as fuck going to know it.

Of the people killed in the bombings, my parents personally knew 37 of them. If it wasn't for quick action in other countries, other embassies (like the one in Tbilisi, Georgia where I lived) could have been bombed as well. In total, roughly 220 people were killed and another 4000 injured. If that isn't enough to say 'We're at war with you now', I don't know what is.

Or they might have thought it through a bit more and said OH WATE REMEMBER VIETNAM OK NO THANKS.
Good job on all those other countries for losing less than 1000 troops each to accomplish absofuckinglutely nothing.

I agree totally. I just think that perhaps if all the other countries were as angry as the U.S., they'd be just as irrational. But we're fighting a war for nothing except American greed and, of course, oil.
I found an article online about all the things we could do with the money spent on the war- things like completely eliminate starvation in Africa, send a few hundred thousand kids to Harvard, make efficient biodiesel cars and etc.
For me, however, the war is good for business. With the value of the US dollar equal to the CA dollar more people from Canada and the UK are buying stuff from me off Ebay, because to them it's so damn cheap.

Why? It's not his birthday or nuffin.
No, but it was his 'village' that got hit, so to speak.

Not to mention trying to bomb the WTC in the mid-nineties. The world did not suddenly change in 2001.

Yeah, it pisses me off that the government was too stupid to do anything about it until 9/11 occurred.
