Wha?
As far as I can tell Bear said he could no longer osmosify any more 9/11 revelry in good faith because it'd been played for all it's worth and then some by arseholes looking for a crutch to lean on. I don't recall Bear saying he was happy about the situation, just reporting how he felt - that the events of 11/9 (UKland for the win!!!) had been debased beyond reckoning and that made him feel tinges of disappointment with himself and society at large.
Which seems reasonable enough.

I now know why I like the FM forum better: there's a lot more respect for the opinion of others than here.
I'm shocked to read what some of you are stating.
Some opinions do not deserve respect and you should not be shocked to see what is being said in light of a tragic event whose consequences have polarised much of the world.

The trouble with the FM forum is that they all have the same opinion, whether they like it or not.
OH SNAP I TOTALLY WENT THERE

Flames, flames...nothing but flames, burning your thread....ITT.
But, seriously, cheers to Ulukai and Scots. 'tis a mean world (sometimes) CommChat, amen for that.
Also: Turtle 2008!
Anyways...moving along now, moving along.

MrDuck: I think you're a coward! Sorry for stating my mind! But I'm getting a bit more offensive here right now.
I liked the irony, but it stopped after you were cheering some posts :nono:
Gingerbread Man: This is SO NOT TRUE!!!
I don't even bother to get into that!
Scots Taffer: Thank you four putting this reply on this thread!
Thief 13X: I'm a woman! But I get your point!:cheeky:
Ulukai: You're right!
It's just that I'm always at the FM forum, so I stated the thread there :nono:
because I got used to that! I'm just human :erm:

If anyone took my post as meaning 9/11 should be shoved down people's throat then let me assure you that was not my intent. Different people have different ways of dealing with things like this. If you don't like the way others deal, then don't look.
What? You've just spent the rest of the thread saying the opposite. The whole issue people have with the media's dealing of 9/11 is that it is shoved down our throats as THE DARKEST DAY EVA EVA, when in reality it is now just being used as part of the US propaganda machine. The fact that bleeding hearts sob and whine over it just makes it more sickening, and the perpetuation of such behaviour is not to be ignored.
No one is saying it wasn't a terrible day. I was in Taiwan and saw the 2nd plane hit live on TV and then everything after. So what? There is no way my experience of the day touches that of those TTLG members that were in NY at the time. I think we lost a member in one of the towers too. I also know that there is no way that you should ordinarily be affected by the events in the way you describe. That you admit that it is your depression that would drive you to suicide is evidence of insight into the fact that your condition likely skews your view on the whole thing, sad event that it is.
