OK anyone have a little explaination or advice on how to enchant a daedric shield with 30 constant fort str it will fit the 150 available room on the item but I"ve failed 20 out of 20 tries. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to buff intel and luck over 700? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

buffing at 500 each should do it

Well like I said at 100 skill in enchanting and buffing int and luck to 700 I failed 20 out of 20 times. Perhaps I just have bad luck...

fatigue has a higher effect on everything than attributes... try fortifying your fatigue 1000 points... not too hard to do.

Alternatively, pay someone to enchant it, then you're guaranteed success.

Since its sorta on topic. A few quick questions about preferences with enchant.
(don't tell me to search. I tried)
1) When enchanting blades, if I make a fire attack with a attack radius of 20 feet or so, does the blast affect me. (I'm a retarded thief who can't cast hearth heal well so I have little experience with magic.)
2) With bows, if I enchant the bow to do fire damage, will it do anything?
3) Should I take the time to enchant a short blade or should I enchant the daedric dai-katana or longsword and get long blades skill higher? (short is at 75 and long is only 20)
4) Does anyone have a list of the amount of enchantment you can put into armor? No plugin info please, X-Box. And does glass hold enough enchantment do make constant effect?
God, I hate lists. sorry.

Brunnern:
re point 3, I'm also playing a thief. Best advice is think about short swords for now (and consider just buying, I used a dwemmer jink-sword for ages). Once you have loads of money from your various heists then consider buying your longsword skills and then think about enchanting a long sword... Others may have different thoughts, but that's how I did it.

I've got plenty of money. enough to enchant my glass set, the daedric long bow, and maybe a weapon. But my long blade skill would cost... alot, to get decent. So is it worth it? Is Long Blades able to hold much better enchantments? If not I'll stick to my quick short blades. I love swinging 5-6 times more than those with a 2 hander. Either way, by now a dwemer jinksword (though I do still use one) isn't cutting it anymore.

Well, if you are a thief, and you have a good sneak (plus a good "chameleon" casting item, to boot), then I'd say stick with what you're good at, namely critical hits which will take out pretty much anyone in just one hit. I have an ebony shortsword that is almost as good as the ebony longsword. I just enchanted the living bejeezus out of it, and capture souls in Azura's Star to keep the tank full. I have never enchanted a bow before, so no help there, BUT, i do know you can get enchanted arrows that do extra damage (don't do it yourself as it is a MONUMENTALLY tedious process (you have to enchant every, single arrow one-by-one))

Seen the arrows. Just wondering if I get the bow enchanted, if it makes the arrows that the bow fires have the enchantment.
I think I'll just enchant it when I get off of work and check it out.
I'll post the results.
