Well if you read the link you'd see the proposed extension is via anti-aging technology. I've heard about this before - it's quite different to medical technology that stops you from dying when something fails and the intention is to pospone the failure iyswim.

Well, i'm hoping pain meds and tranquilizers develope as quickly as the other technology, hopefully making old age more enjoyable. Fingernail its cool dude, I thought you were really raging me for no reason, it wouldn't be the first time its happened to me.:p

the extra 20years of what? Having someone wipe my ass for me?
I've got to admit I find the prosepct of twenty years of third party ass wipings rather exciting, especially if the sleeves are rolled up and a certain amount of dedication and care is used.

I can't wait for all the old emulated console games we'll play/finish during our free time :cheeky:
And all the MMORPGs. And all the online deathmatch play.
Of course, that will be before alzheimer kicks in...

stupid f*cking scientists, playing with nature again
there is an order to things that should not be disturbed.
it angers me that that article didn't even mention the potential environmental and quality of life problems with having a population that large. all they were concerned about was the "social and socio-economic problems"
it's too bad the world is going to be shitty for my grandchildren's grandchildren to live in :erm:
i'll never use any technologies like this, i want to die when it is time
