Actually I had a nice time last night.
Since my lovely fiance hails from the state of New York we went out into Soho (London) to a fine eatery known as Eds Diner.
Much chocolate malt shakes and cheese burgers were had before winding down the night with a walk through St James's park which was surprisingly american with flags and music playing.
Not too bad and no bad beer to be had anywhere!

I went to see Morrissey, and he said that 'the only independance america will have is when it is free from george bush', then grunted emphatically into the mic, licked his lips, and flung his shirt into the crowd.
Also Siouxie kicks arse, even at 300 years old or whatever she is now. I might even transfer some of my burgeoning PJ Harvey lust onto her.

I've already had to peel three of my cats off the ceiling as it is and it's not even dark out yet.
My brother's dogs literally clawed his back door apart trying to scrape their way in while he was gone because of the noise!

Yeah, my half Akita/half Chow (Saijero) has an indoor kennel in the garage and he's managed to chew a hole in the garage wall that's now about 1'x1'.
It's the night after and those Yahoos are still shooting off their guns & dynamite. Wonder what condition their crops and cows will be in tomorrow morning.
My neighbor uses Doggie Downers on her Lab and puts her cats down in her basement laundry room so the sounds of the locals' revels are muffled.
The good thing is that if I climb up on my roof I can see the beautiful fireworks from about six towns, including Six Flags in Gurnee. Have to be very careful though; there's always the danger of accidentally getting shot by one of the Good Ole Boys.

Independence was won mostly by running away. That and starving. And freezing. For no pay. For years on end.
You rarely see anyone celebrate it that way though.
It really was quite a near thing and a brilliant piece of persistence.

I always sorta thought of the whole American Revolution being rather ironic in retrospect. Gotta love a country that was founded on treason.

Morrissey's so
edgy. If you're 13.
