Could anyone direct me to updated plugins for 3DS max8?
I have extracted all the plugins into the appropriate max folders, but sadly I do not think the plugins are compatible with Max 8.
Are there links to recompiled plugins etc?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

No. You use Max 5.1, or you don't export models to T3.

Shadowspawn was working on reverse-engineering the format, but I think he is concentrating on the IBT compressor at the moment.

Such a shame, will see if I can get a coder mate of mine to compile it.
Also, has anyone tried adding new character meshes to Thief 3?
Wondering how different the anim/mesh export system is from UT, if any.
Still actor X?

Compile what? The source code is not available.
If he can reverse engineer the plugin that is great, but it is a formidable task.

Ah ok, artist friend I know reckons that it just needed to be recompiled in Visual Studio. But we know little about the Thief 3 set up.

Yeah, he's assuming that the source code is available which would enable you to do this easily.
It's a pity that the devs couldn't have bundled the plugin source with the editor when it was released, like they did with the compile schemas scripts.
