Ive started getting in deeper into tescs now and im pretty excited about it.
My first mod i made myself a house with dwarven lights in it and an underground cave with a generator and some leveled rats in it i even found a cool pool table on the internet and put it in. :p
But now i want more i want to create my own items and other static. But i dont know how and many of the tourtorials out there use 3ds max. Even bethesda has a converter to use 3ds. The program is verry expensive and there are only trial versions out there. I was just wondering if there are any good free 3d editing programs out there and tourtorials that will teach me how to use them with tescs.
thanks

Sorry Galbodrax! I had meant to come back to your question (and still can't answer it right now.) I will say there is a free 3D editing program for you! I remember seeing it on an Uru forum. If you'd just let me go to school first, I'll find you the link later tonight :thumb:

That's exactly the one I just went looking for. Thank you Briareos, you've saved me half an hour of digging through old posts!

Well i actually got 3ds max now. But the problem is that its version 6 and alot of the morrowind related tourtorials are for some different version. Does the program youre talking about have any toutorials that will help me make things in morrowind?

Silo - kickass modeler for about a 100, last time I checked.
Wings3D - kickass modeler, for free, last time I checked.
I've never used either personally, but I've heard very good things from people I trust and who know what they are doing.
Glen Southern, via Kurv studios, released a whole set of free video intro modeling trainers a year or so back for Silo:
