I just bought a 360 (hooray!) and was considering buying the GOTY edition of Oblivion. I have already finished the main quest along with all side quests in the game on my PC, but my computer really sucks ass so the graphics were pathetic and the game was quite dodgy. I was wondering whether you guys figured it was worth getting the GOTY edition purely for good graphics and the new content (shivering isles, knights of the nine)? Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you liked vanilla Oblivion than it would be worth getting again for Shivering Isles and KOTN sure, why not? Shivering Isles is far superior to vanilla Oblivion IMO.
I bought both versions eventually, PC & 360. I haven't touched the PC version in ages except to try out various mods, but I still play the 360 version.
If you have a nice HD setup and surround sound or whatever I'd say it's worth it for sure. You might check out Mass Effect as well if you haven't allready.

The original non-GotY version, without all the expansions, etc. prepackaged.
If you already own the game, then try to pick up the 360 version for less than the retail of a new release game ($100 AUD, IIRC).
Ignore people whom say that First person games suck arse with a controller, dual analogue stick control schemes are perfectly adequate. You'll have slower movement and less precision, but it's a fair trade off for superior graphics and sound (Dolby Digital 5.1 :D) that accommodate your budget.

"Fair trade off" is debatable, but Oblivion was ultimately designed for the Xbox360 and ported to the PC. Perhaps telling. Personally, I couldn't enjoy games as much as I do without the ability to mod. But that isn't to say I can't enjoy a console game now and again. I just tire of them faster.

two beautiful pics I think speaks for buying the pc version of both Morrowind and Oblivion. Now you can't do anything remotely like this for Xbox360, can you.
Edit: I'm not suggesting you should not get GOTY for your xbox360 enjoyment as the Shivering Isles is damn good, well worth your money it is, but I do think that Morrowind for the pc is a good purchase too. Your pc will handle it well.
Play through it, will take you forever btw, and afterwards you could always connect it with cyridil and see what it looks like with Oblivion's updated graphics. Like on the pics I linked to.

yeah don't worry I have already given Morrowind a very thorough run through on my pc, Bloodmoon was awesome. I assume you have modded it to make it look pretty in that second picture.

Just a simple conversion. Oblivion has a better enging so when you convert morrowind/tribunal/bloodmoon into Oblivion worldspace, it looks much better than it used to.
Officially though Bethesda hates the idea and will beat you over the head with a stick if they know you do it.

maybe its just me, but I think the 360/PS3 versions arent very bad because I am glad I dont have access to all those cheats. The game keeps my intrest that way.

i only have the 360 version but, according to youtube, the pc version is MUCH better. unless you don't want to cheat. mostly its console commands and mods. you can only download from 360 marketplace or from CD(SI and KOTN) for 360.
My opinion: PC is better.
