I wanted to play it all the way through a second time before I comment, but now I'm finally ready:
I LOVED IT!!
This was by far, the creepiest Thief campaign I think I've ever seen and it was fantastic. You guys really captured that unique Thief creepiness and then dialed it up to 11--I really can't rave enough about it. I also loved the sheer scale of the missions, especially the city areas. I don't think I've ever played a FM where a city felt more expressive and more lived-in, it was a fantastic experience and I can tell a lot of love went into it. I love how the story and new characters deepened and enriched the Thief universe, as well as the new creatures---I particularly loved the big glowing water skaters! It was really nice to encounter a non-hostile creature that was so adorable.
If I had to find some faults, I guess it would be that I really had no use for the new items like the smoke bombs, strength potions and such; but the main issue I had was that I felt the ending was too abrupt. I just wanted Hume's story to be fleshed out a little bit more at the end and I would have liked to know more about the sentient statuette. Azaran's spell was disrupted, but was the statuette's influence destroyed? Did Hume break the curse even if he was doomed from the start, or is the statuette still ensnaring souls? All questions I suppose could be answered in future FMs. . .
Anyway, MAJOR congratulations to you, Feuillade Industries, ya done good. In fact, you completely reignited my passion for Thief---just when I thought I was out of the game, you pulled me right back in! I was even inspired to write a bit of fanfiction about it----something I have not done in well over 20 years. :weird:
In conclusion: GAME GOOD!
I am bad at writing reviews!
I can't wait to see what you guys come up with next! :thumb:

Oh gosh, I'm flattered, but I'm not sure where I'd upload it to. . :o
Like I said, I haven't done this in years and I definitely don't want to make an Ao3 account, or something like that where I know I'll never post anything else. If there are any other file sharing options though, I'd be glad to hear them!
EDIT: After posting this I remembered that google drive (which I almost never use) exists and decided to upload the story there.
SO. . for those who are interested, it's a short little vignette that doesn't have a name. I mentioned before that I wished that there was just a little bit more to the conclusion of Hume's story and then I figured "What if he and Garrett met at the end?" Anyway, spoilers for the end of Black Parade and all that jazz, and I hope you enjoy it.

How do I skip a mission? CTL ALT SHIFT END is not working for me in The Black Parade. A glitch in mission 8 is preventing me from progressing which I posted in the mission 8 thread and in the dromed discord but nobody has been able to help.

Occasionally I find keys stop working when playing Thief but they work again if you change their settings via customise controls to another key and then return to the original setting, or if you are using default settings swap over to WASD settings. Alternatively you may need to re-install TG, but make sure you save your saves in a temp folder first.

The key bindings usually contain the CTRL-SHIFT-ALT-END binding. My
USER.BND file in the Thief 1 game folder has a line looking like this:
Code:
bind end+alt+ctrl+shift win_mission
If this line is missing in Too Much Coffee's
USER.BND file, this could be the explanatiom for why it doesn't work anymore.

Thank you both. I did already have that binding in my USER.BND. I just tried again about ten times holding all keys simultaneously and trying also to press the keys in various sequences and eventually it finally worked. Not sure what the final trick was, it was sort of random. But at least now I was able to skip to mission 9.

Coming back to this after a multi-month hiatus. The levels have been overly long and labyrinth in style for my tastes, so midway through Mission 4 I needed a break. Hoping the game opens up more soon, to not be so densely packed and maze-like in terms of level design. The start of Mission 5 isn't giving me much hope in this regard :)
Main question I wonder is why was Thief Gold used for it rather than Thief II? I think I recall it was a style choice, like grittier vibe or something. Oh well, personal preferences, I guess... but the blotchy textures especially in low lit or shadowed areas isn't my thing. And trying to gamma adjust +/- looks weird... doesn't help. Just goes from 'somewhat blotchy' to 'more blotchy with a bunch more zero blacks,' and vice versa. Is that because TG was used, or is it because blotchy textures were created for the mod (like, on purpose)?
If the next level or two continue to be huge levels with claustrophobic feeling as it has been, getting through this may be a multi-year adventure. Which, isn't necessarily a bad thing. A bit like sipping a fine wine. But I do still wish it was inspired more by Thief II rather than Thief Gold 800x600 graphics.
PS: Is there a way to get a wider FOV in the game? I feel like it's at like 75 FOV and I usually prefer playing FPS games more like 105. This would probably help me not feel as "closed-in" as this mod makes me feel

In cam_ext.cfg there are two options dealing with FOV, one of them sounds exactly like what you need. I never used them, though.
