A huge thank you to the team that toiled over this labor of love for the Thief community. For me, it captured all the essence of the look/feel/sense of playing the original games over 20 years ago.
You all really have outdone yourselves and are to be congratulated for this epic adventure!! You're the best Taffers in the world! :cheeky::thumb:

You get an amazing view of the city from high up in the buildings, most of the maps give you a realistic, panoramic view.....not like the usual maps where you can only see the very limited "skybox".

I've enjoyed this campaign allot:
Hume gets done dirty through out the whole thing, but I have some questions
1. The first mission I found two "live" statues, they seem to observe you, with one of them causing puddles of blood to drip from the ceiling. The other is literally caged as if its jailor knows its awake. And through all the game I keep seeing so many statues, placed in areas where it would make them seem alive such as one in mission 2 where it will be observing you climbing up through the window. I think the old man who observes the sealed section is also some how possessed by them, given the text from their descendant .Who is controlling them? is it that certain "child"? since she is capable of awakening some statues if you get caught. I think there was a text about the keepers using statues to spy on people, but they also mention that they act on their own(correct me if I'm wrong). But then you meet the earth mage and he can turn himself into a statue of almost the same make.
2.I really enjoyed Dewalls little lab, so is the reason he hires you to steal the first few items was because he is aiming to resurrect his wife? It makes him seem allot less bad and more understandably upset when Hume fails to get the harp.
3.So a little statue(is it related to the other ones) in a haunted manor is somehow much more powerful than an entire necromatic cult? a cult that the keepers recognised enough as a threat, and to a point that even the first keeper was involved. Why did the cultists leave it lying around if they knew it can be a problem.
4.Hume has a much worse moral compass than Garrett yet the higher keepers seem to allow him to venture into the forbidden library and risk the safety of other keepers.
Everything else made sense enough to me, but maybe I missed out too much about the nature of the statue, I think there was a mention of someone else visiting the void realm you first see after touching the statue.
I know it's not very well structured but perhaps some one might fill me on these. It was memorable and probably will remain one of my highlights of 2023.
My word, I missed a lot! Where's the lab? And you must tell me more of these statues, I totally missed them!

Hey guys,
First off, shout out for an absolutely phenomenal mod. I've been thoroughly enjoying my time so far (up to Trial of Iron mission) although I will say that levels are perhaps sometimes a bit TOO big - it's amazing that you've managed to make it work so well and be relatively bug-free on the shitty T1 engine which is far nastier than the one used in T2 - that alone is an achivement! That said, and please don't crucify me here guys, I'm all for retro gaming as a day 1 player of the OG Thief game, but man, I really do with this was compatible with at least some of the HD mods out there, cause MAN do some Thief assets look ROUGH these days - we talking like 320p textures and shit, that's just bad however you slice it (Thief wasn't a nice looking game even when it came out, let's be real).
Does anyone know if there are ways to get at least some HD textures working nicely with Black Parade? I realize there are a lot of new custom assets here, but I recognize a ton from the OG game too, so I imagine at least some stuff would be okay. Or maybe someone is considering a HD mod for this? Honestly, aside from the levels being overwhelming at times, that's my only real complaint here, otherwise this is quite possibly a top 2 thief game of all time, mod or otherwise.

That is not happening. If you want to make existing HD mods work with TBP, nobody can stop you, but we aren't providing any guides on how to do that either. But an official TBP HD edition is out of the question.

The whole point of black parade was to make it look like T1. They made that very clear. So the low rez was by design

Ah, okay, sorry, I didn't follow the mod's development so I had no idea that was a very particular design choice. Strange one, considering how different the levels feel mind you (in a good way) but I guess that also explains why the T1 engine was used. Either way, I respect it as an artistic choice, I just didn't know that was the intention.

It should be noted that with NewDark the engine is the same for Thief 1 and Thief 2. If I understand it, NewDark can "act like" Thief 1 but it's running Thief 2 tech underneath and all limits and available features are the same (colored lighting etc.) as far as I'm aware. Having said that, authors who make Thief 1 FMs often choose to stick to a Thief 1 style (Scarlet Cascabel being a notable exception).

I'm just trying to extract this before installing it, but on Windows 11, I'm getting "The entry 'mesh\txt16\alhaz.gif' cannot be extracted from the archive because it is an unsupported file type". This happens on a lot of files. How do I resolve this, please?
Scratch that. Just found Easymode's video and have followed it all through. Now, better check my map... ;)

Are there any plans to fix the occasional stuttering bug that occurs in The Black Parade?
I know it's not just me because I'm seeing it in every youtube video walkthrough too.
