The Black Parade was designed to be played without any mods, so you won't break anything by disabling them all.
Mod which makes AI can't hear footsteps still works for now (mission 5). It would be nice that every fm inherits rules from newdark or tfix so one could mod AI vision-cones, player's speed... more easily.

Does anyone else have a weird water bug where the water texture switches between 2 textures every 2 seconds? Is it maybe a conflict with the updated water you can install with tfix or with NewDark (I don't remember which now)? Any idea how I could fix it? It didn't bother me much in the first mission since there isn't a lot of water but in the second mission it's pretty annoying.
I had this issue aswell: removing the folder "WaterHw" from the mods folder fixed it for me.

This indicates that your install uses custom water textures. To fix it, go to the cam_mod.ini file in your Thief 1 install folder and add a semicolon ( ; ) in front of any lines under the "Mod paths" heading. These are likely to include uber_mod_path and mod_path lines. Alternately, find the MODS folder in your Thief 1 install and rename it.
It worked for me fine.

You modded it so that AI cannot hear your footsteps? Why would you do that? It trivializes the gameplay, but I guess you do you.

The nice thing about using AngelLoader is that if you disable all mods for The Black Parade, it won't disable all mods for the main game or for other FMs where you want to keep certain mods active. That Mod tab is FM-specific. So by clicking the Disable All button, you made your install fully compatible with The Black Parade without disabling your interactive candles in OMs or other FMs. :thumb:
In the future, you'll find that Mod tab useful if you're experiencing something wrong while playing an FM. You can just hit the Disable All button to see if it fixes the problem. (It often does; mods are less universally compatible than people realize.) Then enable mods one at a time, testing the FM each to time, to see when the problem appears again. Once you isolate the culprit, you can just disable that one mod for that one FM.

Well done, guys!

A labor of love: new campaign for 25-year-old classic ThiefAnyone who has been playing PC games for a while will probably have heard of the Thief series. On November 30, 1998, just over 25 years ago, the first version of the "stealth shooter" with the master thief Garrett was released. In Germany, the title from developer Looking Glass (known for Ultima Underworld, System Shock and Flight Unlimited) and publisher Eidos was called "Dark Project: Der Meisterdieb", or "Thief: The Dark Project" in English.
The Black Parade as an unofficial expansionJust in time for the birthday, an elaborate fan expansion called The Black Parade was released, which the developers say they have been working on for a good seven years. The result is a new campaign with ten "huge" missions that were built with a lot of passion. A brand new main character is thrown into the darkness. The mod requires the current version of Thief Gold, which is currently available for a good 7 euros on Steam or GoG. In addition, the mod NewDark version 1.26 and the latest version of TFix/TFix Lite are required.
Worth mentioning in the mod alone are 30 minutes of hand-painted cutscenes and briefings, 28 characters with voice acting and 1,800 lines of dialog, many AI improvements and improved AI movements. The Black Parade is a declaration of love to Thief, which also has a slightly higher level of difficulty than the base game. According to PC Gamer, the head of the development team for The Black Parade is Romain Barrilliot, who currently works as a level designer for Arkane Lyon, but has also previously worked for 3D Realms and Streum On. Barrilliot has also worked on several mod projects in his spare time.
The mod offers many changes in detail. For example, the main character can move banners to the side instead of having to cut them up. Water arrows can now be used to enlarge moss patches. Electric lanterns carried by guards can be switched off.
