Congrats on the release, skacky and team! :thumb:
Hey, uh, is there gonna be a lot of spiders in this? Hume might not mind the creepy crawlies but I do. I've played the first 3 missions and managed to avoid em quite well so far, by playing on Normal to cut down on extra objectives and just turning around and going in the other direction whenever I've started hearing spider sounds. Has worked quite well, tho the surprise in the chest in the orphanage freaked me out enough that I shan't be opening any more chests if I can help it.

I have been a Theif fan since I was introduced to it by my parents. I have played many FM's like most people here and this is the best project I have seen yet. I had huge fun playing this and will also be replaying it. Those 7 years of hard work have paid off. I can't express how amazing this game is. Especially today when so many AAA games fail to capture and this is offered for free. Absolutely Brilliant!

@henke: There is one mission (Mission 8) that heavily features spiders, the others have one or two here and there, usually in out the way paths. There is no other chest that contains spiders so you can open them without fear.

Does anyone else have a weird water bug where the water texture switches between 2 textures every 2 seconds? Is it maybe a conflict with the updated water you can install with tfix or with NewDark (I don't remember which now)? Any idea how I could fix it? It didn't bother me much in the first mission since there isn't a lot of water but in the second mission it's pretty annoying.

It's a conflict with a mod, probably the one you installed with Tfix. If you're using AngelLoader, you can just click on the Mods tab on the right-side, then uncheck the offending mod, or more usefully, just click on the Disable All button.
If you're using FMSel or NewDarkLoader:

This indicates that your install uses custom water textures. To fix it, go to the cam_mod.ini file in your Thief 1 install folder and add a semicolon ( ; ) in front of any lines under the "Mod paths" heading. These are likely to include uber_mod_path and mod_path lines. Alternately, find the MODS folder in your Thief 1 install and rename it.

The Black Parade is set in 833. Can someone remind which year Thief TDP is set in?

Ok thanks, I have downloaded AngelLoader and it looks like a way better launcher than Fmsel. However do you know what kind of mod I have to disable specifically to disable the water mod? I wouldn't want to break something if I disable them all? Like for example the candle mod, maybe if I disable it then I will not be able to have interactive extinguishable candles? Dunno.
Trying to embed the image but it doesn't load, here's the link: (

We know it's the year 34. IIRC it was Melan who came up with the idea that it was 834.

The Black Parade was designed to be played without any mods, so you won't break anything by disabling them all.
