Jack's mother told the BBC she had left her password for the eBay auction site in her computer and her son used the "buy it now" option to complete the purchase.
"Jack's a whizz on the PC and just pressed all the right buttons," Rachel Neal said.
The seller of the second-hand car, a dealer from Worcestershire, was amused by the bid and agreed not to force the sale through.
"Luckily he saw the funny side and said he would re-advertise," Neal said

I most definitely agree; this whole story just didn't ring true to me. I could read at three, but it was at least another two years before I'd mastered the use of a computer, so for a kid this age to (a) hack into his mother's eBay account and (b) navigate his way through the buy-it-now process, he must be some sort of technical genius.

Well, technically it could just have taken three mouse clicks, if the mother's password has been stored and the item was featured on the front page. It sounded a bit suspicious to me too though.
