I've not heard a thing about the situation in Ukraine since last year. Media just stopped reporting on it entirely. Has there been any change in that time? Russians controlling less or more territory?
About the same. It's a stalemate currently. Parts of the 2 eastern regions (not counting Crimea) are occupied and under direct Kremlin influence and rule. They have united "hybrid" military forces: partly local separatists and partly Russian servicemen-"volunteers", plus the entire military command is Russian, plus Russian weaponry, LOTS of it, plus imperialistic attitude in Russia where about 85% of population support Putin's foreign policy and military operations. Intensity of the warfare is considerably lesser now than it was in 2014-2015 though.
And they constantly lie that Americans fight against "peaceful population of Donbass", and that Americans support us with lethal weaponry, which is outright lie in both cases. We basically don't get any foreign help, except sanctions which actually more or less work, even though many EU politicians already propose to lift them.
The main problem always has been that Rissians don't really consider us a nation and spit on international laws and our will, as clearly demonstrated one of them above.

There no regular Russian military in there, only volunteers and mercenaries. What happened in Ukraine is a civil war.
Besides Russian's, the world as a whole does not believe that for a second.

Another forum was talking about how Russia could use Syria, where they're "officially" involved, to whitewash their KIA in Ukraine.
"Yes, I know Colonel Petrovich's body was found in Donetsk even though the official records state he died outside Raqqa. It's true, his scooter hit a very very very big IED. Next question."

If it looks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck, it's a duck. So no I don't believe you.

I would like to read you when a part of your country is annexed, part occupied, and someone tries to justify aggressor.
My country is occupied, and not partly. Mc Donald's, Starbucks, Burger King, Subway, Game of Thrones and Star Wars don't sound very French to me, but I must be old fashioned.

Yeah, that's exactly the same thing...

People like 242 sold their motherland in 1991 for the things you have listed

Well...if you think about the history of the nations that was the likely outcome. Hell the country doesn't even speak the same language on the East and West side, not to mention that Stalin was originally Ukrainian if I remember correctly.
