keep posting, It'd be a shame for the forum to lose the unique breed of hostility you contribute.

SS2 and thief1-gold-2 code seems like something of interests, but to what use?
1.Updating the engine for current video cards?
2.Improving the original game to the current standards, blur? Various non sense effects?
Oh the horror.
If anything option 1 is realistic and won't screw up with the game legendary feel and ambient.

Yeah, but ya gotta love him. Q's so deliciously irreverent.
Personal best: being able to move back home after being in exile in the Great Northwest of Wisconsin (damn those bears and gazillion different kinds of ticks) for almost a year.
Otherwise, I agree that ComChat has been noticeably lacking in zest this past year. What we need is another few threads like (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100941&highlight=supermario).

Thank you Dia; I think I should read that again to start the new year off right. :)

Guys, you need to understand... I have responsibilities towards other people, and haven't got all the time in the world to spare.
So here's what we do: you grab a camera, go down to the nearest questionable leather apparel store, and photograph yourself wearing the best pair of assless chaps in public that you can find.
The most titillating photo to reach my PM inbox first wins some quality one-on-one time. Impress me enough and we might even have ourselves a scintillating full on tête-à-tête beforehand.

Yes, some other people's imaginary tensions erupted and then TTLG continued to be the successful great fansite hub it always had been.
....
Here's the real epilogue to that thread: First off, I was wrong back then. I had thought that fixing the website would be the easy part and changing the attitude would be a lot harder. However as the active community rapidly shrank, it dropped some of the acidity that had prevailed before and started to behave more like a community again. Figures. Deprived of nameless victims the aggression had turned against long time members and even the leftover hardcore began to see the deadend of this sort of entertainment. As a consequence some of them left, probably still mourning the end of the "good old times" they had brought on themselves. Good riddance.
The community that stayed has changed somewhat for the better, without turning into a pink paradise, but also unable to fill this huge empty house again. The administrators simply left the site in the exact same state of rot it was 10 months ago. Nothing was ever hammered into form and the remaining bugs from the vb4 upgrade just stayed. I remember this upgrade was called necessary for management and security reasons. (
http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/) QuarterToThree still runs fine on vB 3.8.4 today.
At some point I started posting simple instructions on how to (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=133501) fix the most glaring bugs in this forum theme that would take a versed admin 10-15 minutes max. to implement altogether. Nothing happened. It took me a while to realise this silence wasn't a variant of the ignorant "fuck you" I had come to expect for daring to offer advice. Nay. GBM and Dave have simply jumped ship months ago.
Make of that what you will.
