I read 29 novels and I thought that was pretty decent. Hey, I read "The Man Who Was Thursday" this year too, wasn't the best novel, but it had exceptionally clever dialogue.

Which is, incidentally, the next novel on my queue, having just finished the novelization of The Last Days of Disco.

The Dark Knight Returns might well have been the only book I read this year, and a comicbook at that. It was good.

James (aka sypha_69) is an important member of this blog's amazing community. If memory serves, he's also the first to have a book of his fiction published during the course of the blog's life. So it seems appropriate to honor him and his work with this little spotlight. If you can, please order Confusion both to give yourself the pleasure of experiencing his work and to support one of our own, one of our shiniest lights.

In fact once you reach the end of the extract, it sort of makes sense. But I do worry that Sypha enjoyed writing that whole section a little more than is healthy. Do you have a brother, Sypha?
My favourite line is this, which comes after detailing (yes detailing) their sexual relationship:
"I guess my brother felt some sort of guilt, however, because he hung himself the following year. I kind of miss him, we were close."
But then you go and ruin it with:
"It's a shame he never got over his shame."
Which is a terrible sentence however you look at it.

Ah ha ha ah oh God wth?
That extract. Ha ha ha. Oh lmao, really I am. It's so bad it got awesome then that bad it stopped being awesome and just became awful. Then it looped all the way around again and just became the most boring and turgid blogger fantasy.
You should have ended it with "And then I put on my wizards robe and hat".
also this: James Champagne - yes. Great name.

Man, I could write a better incest story than that.

Yes, James Champagne is still a great name!
Also having gone further down the rabbithole into Sypha's blog I have the answer to my earlier question. Yet it leaves so many more, darker, darker questions...
However, congratulations on getting your short stories published!
