Is anyone else attending this year? After a few years of watching Formula One on TV I've decided to pony up the hard earned stuff and bought a ticket to this years Silverstone event. By the time I'd made the decision most of the tickets have already gone (general admission sold out earlier this week I think). However I didn't really fancy a 6am scramble through the gates to find 'the right spot' around the circuit so instead I've got myself seat in a stand on the new infield section of track that's just been completed. I can't wait especially as this season looks like it's going to be a classic.

And if England
does happen to make it to the Footie Final I won't miss that either.

I went to the 2008 GP and sat in the Copse grandstand for the race. I had a full 3 day ticket and camped in one of the campsites right next to the Luffield/Woodcote entrance to the circuit.
It was bloody fantastic and I'm going to try and attend one next year. I would love to go this year as it looks like the season could be fantastic with a lot of top drivers in top cars, but sadly I can't.
I will, however, watch (or listen to!) every practice, qualifying and race. Except Valencia, which is a) shit and b) I'm at a wedding.
If you've never been to the British GP before and have a 3 day ticket, I would recommend wandering the circuit during the various sessions. One of my favourite places was Maggots and Becketts. The cars go through there flat out, and watching them change direction through Maggots is something quite amazing.
God I'm such a huge F1 nerd. I can't wait for practice in Bahrain tomorrow.

Nah, I just have a race day ticket. I'll be sat in Arena A uncovered grandstand right on top of the corner leading to the old/new national straight and will also get a view of Maggots and Becketts.
I'm waiting for Bahrain practice too. This year, for once, I have no idea how it's all going to pan out. I'd like to think McLaren will be up there if only because I picked them in my office Fantasy F1 league this year (I'm the defending champion). :D
Getting mixed feelings about Schumacher, too. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd like to see him do well.

Why the hell is UK Mother's Day the same day as the first GP of the seaon?
Really looking forwards to watching some great races and Hamilton, Button, Massa, Alonso and Schumacher scrabbling for the title.
Shan't be attending the British GP in person, tho'

Although I'm too much of a stay-at-home fan to actually go, I'm curious - what is there to do in the hours between sessions?
David on 11/3/2010 at 13:57
When I went there were about 15-20 sessions of different racing series over the weekend. There was usually little more than an hour between on-track action. I think the only time there was more than that was between the F1 practice sessions on Friday.

Last I checked the complete race programme hadn't been finalised. I think there's an after GP party in the evening as well.

I'd like to go, if I'm in the UK and free at the time. But I'll have to see, I wanted to go last year as well, but it didn't really work out. I'll probably know by the mid of June.

By mid June I wonder if you'll be having to negotiate with ticket touts at the main gate. I find it pretty ridiculous that Shanghai organisers were having to bus in chinese schoolkids to make the grandstands look full when the BRDC have to charge as much as they do (Damn you, Bernie) and still manage fill the place up!

Hum... that's a good point. God, do I hate having to plan ahead.
