YouTube has kicked things off with TEXTp video quality as an option for most of their videos. Enjoy the (

We can all be expecting more from the usual sources. If you find any good ones, put them here!

Moodle (e-learning platform) doing the youtube trick of last year (on their news page): (

Is this text mode on youtube location specific? Your link (nor any other video) show the textp option... :(

It takes a couple of seconds for it to kick in, but it does seem to be every video.

...still not working - even when I manually add the &textp option to the URL.
Only occassionally IE (haven't got another browser ready at work) says page not displayable, though I suspect the generally new layout of youtube rather than the display format.
oh well.
edit: ahh, got it - from their blog:

To give it a whirl, make sure you have the latest Flash player (10.0)...
(although I do have flash player 10.... downloading now the really latest one.)

Works for me, so probably not location specific.

Regarding youtube, I give up - I now tried it with SeaMonkey under Win, Linux and Mac at home - all with FlashPlayer 10 - and the TEXTp option nowhere shows up nor does it work when adding it to the address bar. Well, there's no need to have seen everything.

Google Canada seems to be unaffected.... that's no fun.
