you've given us a lot to think about
Looks like Obama just took PA, which narrows down McCain' chances of victory considerably

What time do you go to the polls, 2AM?
There are something like 5k registered voters assigned to my polling location. If you went there between 7AM and 8AM today, you might have waited 15 minutes. The wait times are probably 30 minutes right now. Obviously, in a working town the lines are smallest during the middle of the day. But I don't think I've ever seen just *two* people in line.
To be fair some people got in right after me so the last guy was waiting behind 4 people. I voted at around 8:15, in other years it's been all over the place. Maybe I'm just lucky but some of those lines are really ridiculous. It shouldn't be hard to vote.
Someone make a new "election results" thread!

I've been keeping an eye on FOX (for the delightfully sullen faces), and they're pretty slow to call anything for Obama and quick to call them for McCain. They held on to hope with PA for almost an hour after everyone else calling it.

Fox, MSNBC, and CNN are all calling Ohio for Obama.
awwwwwwwwww yeah

Just put one in for the old man. My state is in the tank for Obama before he even was the nominee. Didn't matter who the democratic nominee was, it's in the tank. Also, one vote to keep my leather steel toe boot on the neck of all those girly men in my state. :ebil:
Good luck viejo, your going to need it.

America has over 700 military bases in 130+ countries around the world. Occupation. Tell me that's not an empire. It's not called one, but if it looks like a duck...
Ahahahaha, ahahahahah. Honestly? I don't have figures, but I would suspect most of the forces stationed overseas could probably be taken out pretty damn quickly by any half-decent OPFOR, particularly without significant reinforcement from other US bases etc. Support that would be fairly long in coming given the reduced sealift capability that the US has maintained since the end of the Cold War.
I would particularly like to know if the base in Faslane means that Scotland is under the occupation of the American Empire.
