Article 1, Section 10 of the Constitution enumerates that only Gold and Silver be used in payment of debts.
Just out of curiosity have you actually read that section?

I just did, however irrelevant it is to me anyway. It's talking about the states specifically, so the federal government can do what it wants with regard to debt, presumably. Although I haven't read the whole constitution. So yeah, I think it's a pretty moot point?

That article cites no sources to check facts with except for another sourceless article. The Barney Frank bit is true, I've known about that for a month. Everything else came up blank (from my own searching, feel free to provide sources that I missed). And basically all Orson did was repeat the article he linked and pile on a spiel about Obamarama. I'm sure there's an adage somewhere which says that if you count yourself as "the last honest reporter", you probably aren't.
For facts, I usually consult (
http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/who_caused_the_economic_crisis.html) FactCheck.org, and I'm going with their version of the story. I've never believed that a few people or even a whole party is to blame for this financial crisis. Like the link says, to screw up the economy this badly "takes a great deal of cooperation".
Alright, in regard to Obama's amount of donations from Fannie Mae, how about (
http://amyproctor.squarespace.com/blog/2008/9/17/barack-obama-2-on-fannie-mae-freddie-macs-lobbyistcampaign-c.html) HERE. Articles can be found for the other points too, despite what you claim. I just don't really have time to dig them all up right now.
Yes, the supporting factors for the economic crisis are myriad and widespread (not the least of which being the Federal Reserve system, set up back in 1913), but the trigger that caused the shit to finally hit the fan was undoubtedly the proliferation of low-qualification mortgages to unqualified persons, which was itself caused by the actions of politicians (mostly Democrats) back in the late 90s and early 2000s to loosen lending rules to encourage low-income individuals to become homeowners. There's just no getting around it.

Both Sterioprismatic and Orson Scott Card (who incidentally is not so much a "democrat" as he is an "asshole" when it comes to politics) cherry-pick the most superficial facts they can find in order to make their points. The massive volumes of information out there in reality that you're ignoring in order to believe what you
want to believe would drown out both points if you weren't so interested in taking the simplest, least nuanced view possible.
But don't let me rock your little world, I'm sure it's nice and comfortable in there, where you have all the answers!
Actually, I think the problem is you and the other Obamatons don't want
your "world rocked". The "massive volumns of information" you speak of point to a candidate who is woefully unqualified to be president, especially during such a time as this, and you just refuse to let that pop your happy little bubble of "hope" and "change".
I never claimed to have all the answers. I just don't agree with blindly jumping on the "change" bandwagon just because the current administration are a bunch of dicks.

I thought this was interesting. It is meant to be a list of how people in each country around the world would vote (if they could).
(
http://www.economist.com/vote2008/)
I have no idea how scientific the results are. I presume they are just people voting on the economist's website, so expect an enormous amount of bias (81% democrat in America gives some estimate of the bias, I suppose). Also, the number of people who participarted from each countries is typically very small (6 in mongolia, < 100 in most countries, 100 - 1000 in some major countries. 1900 from china.).
So with that in mind, I'm not sure what to remark on: the entire globe covered in blue, or the one strong red exception of
Iraq.
Either way, really, it makes you think.

I make informed choices. I've chosen to vote for a majority party because I've researched and thought things over a great deal. I fail to see how I'm making a "blind leap."
Also, how does the paradigm of "majority parties cannot be trusted, they're all in it together, vote for Ron Paul, etc." not count as bandwagoning?
Third parties think they're different, but in reality, they're just as derivative and viral as majority parties.
Stop posting shitty referral links. Nobody gives a shit about half-baked "total truth" sites.
PS: Long live the North American Union!!

And yet you'll take Orson Scott Card's word for it.
You'll be citing Curt Schilling's blog next!

Yeah, it was obviously all the democrats fault. Except in this clip we have
Bush actually promoting low income homebuyers to buy just as nice a home as everybody else.

I wondered how long it would take the Gold Standard retards to show up. But we really need the Ayn Rand weirdos before we have the full house.

This is the least complicated election of my lifetime. If you're a redistributionist vote for Obama. If you're not a redistributionist vote for somebody else.
