2 copies of I.C.E. Breaker available at amazon.ca - by The Magpie

Just thought I'd give a heads up to you guys.
(

They contain a lot of rare fluff, from what I've gathered. (Look up some old threads.) Still, they're prohibitively expensive, even with the $CDN price, so I won't buy any of them. Any of you feeling particularly wealthy, medio January?
EDIT: They're at $ 107.70 CDN (which Amazon has the tenacity to list as "Low price"!) and $ 154.85 CDN.
Just FTR.

Since these are second-hand sellers, how is your bad experience with Amazon relevant here beyond that you wouldn't like Amazon to receive a cut from the price?

The rating for those two sellers is pretty abysmal. I wouldn't trust 'em with any money.

93% positive is a "pretty abysmal" seller rating? Jeez, you're super picky.

Good news - the two vendors seem to be undercutting one another every other day.
Bad news - it's still pretty GD expensive.

Well, I'm not super familiar with Amazon's reseller thing. . . but I'd never buy anything from anyone on eBay with less than a 99.5% rating.
(Feel free to search for crtxreavr's rating on eBay.)

shoot me down for suggesting this but....

a hint book's going for $100??
The Magpie on 30/1/2008 at 22:10
Yeah. I forgot that Canadian dollars are actually slightly more worth than the $USD these days.
It goes to demonstrate several things. How dedicated (not to say fanatic) the System Shock fans are, for one. And that there was something called production value back in the day. I.C.E. Breaker is a pretty wonderful book to have for a fan because of several illustrations and background stories not found elsewhere, I think.
Note that none of the books have actually sold for $100 yet, mind you.
And since it's so valuable, people are not very keen on risking its destruction by performing a page-by-page scan. Unfortunately for the rest of us. :erg:
