I just had BBC's headlines for the day beamed into my inbox, and something rather curious was among the top stories:
* Google must divulge YouTube log *
Google must divulge the viewing habits of every user who has ever watched any video on YouTube, a US court rules.
Full story: (

I tend to not bother getting very upset about privacy issues anymore, because it seems that in this day and age more and more of this sort of thing is all we can expect, but usually at least governments and courts limit themselves to just pissing on their own citizens' rights. I can't say I'm very happy about some US court deciding their businesses can online-stalk me because someone uploads football match clips to YouTube, or whatever the hell they think their justification is.
I've never studied law, but shouldn't I at least have to click through some "By accessing this site I give the right for Viacom Inc. to study my viewing habits" gateway first?

Did I post about ACTA here? I think I did.
I think I should move to Russia. China also looks better, at least the government doesn't play-pretend.
Also, I wouldn't want to be the dude who's going to be checking 12 terabytes of logs.

Well, at least it's the Internet. There's plenty of ways to disguise yourself (I'm paranoid. I go for a shotgun approach).
In the same theme, for real life, you could make a (

Chances are that they'll have an intelligent agent do the footwork and notify "real people" of anything that meets the search criteria.

That would work, too. I just figured that a proper data mining agent would be the way to go.
