Because what this series clearly needs is another fucking point of view character.

A better metaphor for the series you will not find.

The biggest problem with the book is that it's half a book; I'd recommend waiting until Dance with Dragons comes out, then reading them together.
If you need something to pass the time in the meanwhile, try Michelle West's Sun Sword series, it's completed so you have an actual end to look forward to. I'd recommend the Dresden Files too, but everyone and his brother knows that one by now. I like Kim Harrison's books that start with Dead Witch Walking as well. Of these recs, only West's books qualify as epic.

One more time I'm pulling this one back from the dead. I am taking months to get through AFFC because there has been zero action, and I'm beyond 325 pages and getting irritated about keeping the characters straight. One reason I can't stand the Wheel of Time series is due to all the filler material, thousands and thousands of pages to make some stupid shit long series. This book feels like that.
Anyways, due to my annoyance, I can't really be bothered to spend an hour trying to go back and figure out the answer to a question:
Can someone please explain Gilly's baby swap... I read on the wiki for the characters that Snow didn't want the sorceress priestess chick to sacrifice a royal baby, but why didn't he? I was 100% confused on Martin's introduction of this wrinkle in AFFC b/c he doesn't give the reader any refresher.

Robert Jordan
Terry Goodkind
George R.R. Martin
Shit or get off the fucking toilet.

Robert Jordan will have to plop the next one out in that golden potty up in the sky. He's deadered, fett.

I know. Perhaps threatening the other two with death with make them get the fuck on with it already.

I'm pretty sure the next few books in the series will be more like the first 3.
oh past self, you were so naive
