1000 clues that you have been playing thief way to much ... - by Mr Croft

2564: When walking across your college campus, you spot a brick wall with none of the insurmountable windowsills you have come to dread, and snigger with evil glee.
2565: You understand that the behavior above is pathological, and decide that the only cure is to play through TDP again.

#2566 - When you spot an odd lamp on the wall in somebody's house, and go give it a good twist, hoping a secret door opens...
#2567 - ...and when you find yourself fingering through someone's books, trying to find the secret lever.

You go out at night equipped with a hooded cloak, sword, bow, and a blackjack. :p

Lol. No wonder there is a huge increase in street crime in England these days. Damn those pesky taffers! :cheeky:

#2558 While outside during long break, you see a teacher standing sentry at one of the school exits to make sure nobody leaves without a story, and immediately start inventing strategies of getting past that teacher. You keep thinking to yourself things like "Ah, look, he's turned his back! I could walk past him, and then I would be concealed by those trees." (guilty)\
#2559 While doing the above, you dream of a moment when you actually do have to sneak out during break. (also guilty)
#2560 Very soon, the moment comes and you proceed with the plan. ;) (I'm in a world of guilt...)
Seriously, though. :D Yeah, that moment did come, and then, half to my disappointment and half to my relief (because I could not afford to waste time sneaking around), there was no teacher. :tsktsk: :laff: After that, I had to run all the way back to my home, grab some things I've forgotten, and run back, all in the 13 minutes of the break.
#2561 While doing/considering all of the above, you can't help but think of this thread and realise such thoughts could only signify a very serious, complicated case of Thief obsession.

#2562 : When you decide to skip 4th period study hall, you devise a very elaborate and crafty escape plan, and even make your own flashbangs in case something goes wrong. :cheeky: (little magnesium, some aluminum shavings...) :ebil:
Poison Ivy on 24/9/2006 at 10:42
Hell, that's a good idea! :thumb:
I don't know about aluminium shavings, but magnesium should work. In chemistry class we've once burned magnesium, and the light was so bright and beautiful...:o We were told to avoid looking directly at it, though.;)

my dad used to be (and still is) a big chem nut, im sure if i asked, he could give me the entire physical breakdown of a household flashbang. You can also make thermite (the stuff they use to melt railroad ties) rather easily, and once ignited, it gets reallllllll friggin hot. You could melt thru anything! :cheeky:
lol, funny story involving chems, my dad once put too much phosphorous in our flower bed, and the next day, it was smoking because all the dirt and stuff was BURNING! i was like "dude, swwweeettt!" (im a bit of a pyro)

Yeah Magnesium does get pretty bright, and if i remember my high school chemistry correctly Potasium thrown in water gives you a nice little reaction.Always wanted to get a bowling balls size chunk of pure potasium and chuck it into a lake to see what would happend.
Karlfox on 26/9/2006 at 06:49
That's an easy one Lamb - I'd expect much the same as a Sodium-H20 reaction. (
http://www.theodoregray.com/PeriodicTable/Stories/011.2/) This was slashdotted a while ago.. Well worth the read (and might save you the trouble of trying it yourself).
Regarding the use of thermite in a flashbang, I'm afraid that's a good way to get yourself charged with [unintentional] arson. You ideally would want something that's going to produce the smoke, light, and 'bang' needed to cause a bit of mayhem - without the tremendous heat of a thermite-style reaction. Look into firework construction.
