My first playthrough was unpatched; and while there were glitches (like stealth not working after reloading;
Well, stealth still "doesn't work" after reloading. Actually, it works, it's just that
nearby enemies become aware of player after reloading, no matter if they're able to see him or not. It appears the game doesn't save alert state of AIs. A neglect (not bug) that makes stealth approach virtually impossible. It's somehow hard to "fix" or rather add the feature for them, perhaps it requires big changes in engine..

So which one is it?
well, like I said you have to choose.
if you play for 1 hour and can't stand the game, stop it.
if you can stand it, play over the 1hour mark at least, see that you get to reach rostock and then decide again because the game is long and takes a little effort , especially if you do not play it on the easy settings. do you understand ?
-> OblivionLost
I don't know BR..., I posted numerous times about AMK, OL and Priboi here and you tell me you just discovered this mod ? It's the only one I play until priboi patch2 comes out or a updated AMK version. vanilla STALKER was only my first runthru. OL2 fixed a few things since OL13 but I actually got harder as well !!!! and you will see what i mean when the first NPCs start throwing grenades, lol

Really? I just got curious when Bear mentioned it, read v2.0 mod's features... they look great on 'paper' to me. I shall try it out and see. I don't visit Stalker forum too often.

I can't fathom why you'd want to jump unless you had to anyway.
No jumping? Why, it's great, you can jump on stuff just like T1 and T2. Crates, tables, roofs etc. even vehicles. Try climbing up some of the towers in the various old factories and jumping onto the huge overhead pipes, then walk along them to get around - great fun. Watch as the AI below runs round in circles as you completely avoid them (well, almost).

The blowouts are annoying at times but still great. There is just something incredibly cool about having to blast you're way through a building to get to a basement that is the only protection for miles having to fight to the death for the right. It just adds to the hard way of life in the zone.
Its really cool when there is a hole you can look up through while it happens (like going to streloks stash) and see the crazy stuff happening in the sky.
By far, to me, the best aspect is the return of the day/night cycles and sun/moon. It adds so much to the atmosphere when you are assaulting a base by darkness and decide to sleep an hour or two until pre-dawn, only to have the sun just come over the horizon as you finish the nights work. Its even more awesome when the sun goes down while you are out working.
The realistic weapons aspect and the ability to kill and be killed easier makes the game a lot more tense; being snuck up on really startles you now and I find myself a lot more spastic with my weapons, spraying hallways and dark places rather than just conserving.
My main complaint is that they added some music. Some of what they added is good, but there are a few poorly done midi tunes that I could have done without that sound really bad and out of place, it also seems as if they removed the guitar playing from the original game, but I liked them.

Forgeting to include an important chunk of AI state info in your savegames is most certainly a bug.

I'm curious about how many tunings and new features of AMK and Oblivion Lost have these two mods in common and what are their most notable differencies?
I know that OL has borrowed a lot from ATK, but now I don't know whether I should try AMK or OL, as I probably wont play the game trying both. Which one is more polished and stable?

didn't have much problems with either of them. but then I'm on 1.005 now and don't play AMK any more. OL runs very good for me, even when driving which is still very .... funny. i drove over an anomaly and it catapulted me AND the car into the air and I landed on a silo near the duty camp in the garbage. unfortunately I did not make a screenshot but I'm gonna try it again sometime.
